Question marks for Lloyd (for whatever the first 7 on 7 of the season is worth) - QB and defense. Did not see any of the running game of course, but Gaines is the real deal. Great hands. Can catch ANYTHING. Not sure how good a QB you even need with him out there IF the running game is as good as expected. Defense will struggle against mediocre teams, get killed by solid offenses they encounter. Good luck to ya', Juggs!

Wow....your inability to comprehend is stunning....the big dogs in FOUR A have left the yard for FIVE A. Scott is now in FOUR A. Conner and Cooper are SIX A. CovCath and Highlands are FIVE A, and they are the big dogs I was CLEARLY referring to. I am not a complete homer, I have respect for many teams unlike you.

Against???? The only 5A team they could dominate was Grant Co. last year. Cooper owned them, S. Oldham beat them soundly, a down Conner played them very tough. Another early exit from the play-offs. Wishing the Eagles the best of luck in 2015 - they stand to benefit greatly from the step down to 4A now that the big dogs are out of that yard - locally speaking.

At Cooper, the "program" has been fortunate enough to adopt a policy of feeding the players to and from long road games. The JAMS (Jaguar Awesome Mom Squad) gives them a goodie bag every week - home or away. One family does cookies on the road, one coach does brownies. A group showed up every Saturday morning after the play-off wins last year and cooked a hot breakfast for the time between films and "work". Specifically for summer? I think the JAMS supply a gatorade type beverage and a sandwich - or they did in the past. Sometimes it was popsicles or other cold treat. The Senior families in the past have rotated hosting a Thursday night meal for the senior boys only. Haven't heard if that will continue. There is a kick-off spring ball dinner (this year it was a taco bar) for the players and a cook-out of some sort in early August which includes family members. Both of those are paid for by "the Program" to my knowledge.

22 minutes and just crickets??? Should be an easy one....they have the best player IN THE WORLD at every position. They will be undefeated, win state and be invited to play in the Super Bowl in place of the Patriots who will be mired in yet another scandal.

Cooper is sending Prickett, Wise, Murray and Ramey. Ramey missed his entire senior season due to injury so I'm glad he gets to strap it on one more time.

I suspect someone is using an alias (again) - will pretend to be all about Ryle then "see the light" (aka unbelievable talent pool at SK) and switch allegiances mid-season. Grammar - and the hyperbole - has a strange familiar feel to it.

I think some people who really like football and aren't just insane homers for one team enjoy a day or two of football in one venue - not chasing all over the state to watch the finals.

It's going to be a tough year for Newport. Coach issue is obvious, but didn't they also lose a lot of talent to graduation? Anyone know if kids are sticking it out? Who's running summer workouts/conditioning with them?

From what I have seen of the new QB, the running game will be waaaaay secondary to the passing game this season and next. Morgan will be flinging or keeping the ball, not handing it off as per the "old Ryle way". Will be very interesting to see who will be able to stifle him.

Read the Scott/Cooper prediction page from 2014 if you need a little perspective. It's great to be optimistic, but then reality comes a callin'.......I think that same call is coming for the Eagles in 2015. You are making progress and I wish the Eagles nothing but the best (thrilled that Pleasant is getting some looks at the next level) - I just don't see the depth/talent at MOST positions.

Hoping the last minute QB decision works out as well for the Jags this season as it did last year. Luckily, it's having a choice between a handful of very capable kids, not an absence of talent that Borchers is dealing with. Given all this team is returning, and gaining back Smith and Hicks, this promises to be an exciting year in "north Union". Defense will be key. The unit is smart and stingy. They hate to be scored upon and love to score. Looking for a huge year from them. The offense may need to open it up a little, be less one-dimensional. Cordell-Armstrong is solid - he has gotten bigger, faster and stronger in the off-season and has truly put that bad break from his sophomore season behind him. But there has to be another weapon or three that can take the focus off him, make the opposing D do some guess work. Jackson is a very capable RB, actually hard to tell him and TCA apart on the field sometimes. Need some more consistency out of the receiving corp. Hate to wish my summer away, but August can't get here soon enough!!

And I'm not saying he is, at all.....I'm just saying there are still dads on the sidelines there. He did not stop the practice all together as SOME would have us believe. For the record, Perron is as good a line coach as Ryle could hope to have. The Rabes know the game inside and out. Did not EVER say otherwise.
