  1. A lot more than that needs to happen prior to actually throwing it. True for any WR
  2. Game was very close for a quarter. St Henry was determined early on not to let the ball get pounded inside and stuck to a 2-3 zone pretty much the whole game- sent players off the free throw line when St. Henry shot to mitigate the chance of a runout. Being very deliberate with the O and the 2-3 seemed to pay off initially. Then Scherr started stroking it from 3 and that started an avalanche that just couldn't be stopped. Every once in a while, it would have been nice to see the Lady Cru attempt a pump fake- but that didn't happen and I'd bet there were double digit blocks in the paint. Thank you Taylor Potts for your time and your leadership. This season didn't turn out as everyone wanted- having just one Senior in Potts and their leading scorer and rebounder (Paige Noble) go down mid season (along with the usual in season injuries that plague every team) hurt the chances of a winning season and going deeper in the Tournament. Some very nice players coming back next year including all 5 starters. Six Seniors (Noble, Kellam, Voskhul, Darlington, Ackley and Palladino) To go along with some key Juniors like Benson, Millay, Kosko, Cline, Landry and Handorff not to mention Freshman Chisom Iloegbunam who has a terrific future. Hold your heads up Lady Cru- stay healthy and work on your game over the summer!
  3. Cov Cath at Beechwood. Crazies get on their Scottish Highlander gear and march @ a mile down Beechwood Av to the Stadium led by an authentic bagpiper.
  4. Bingo- spot on- thank you. I thought this lesson was learned but apparently not.
  5. Probably got film on him
  6. I'm guessing Kentucky schools can do it too- but my understanding is that each schools Freshman team is allowed a finite number of games. IE: ten total games and two Frosh teams means each are allowed only five games. Do Trinity or St X field two Frosh teams? I don't know- just asking.
  7. Hilarity coming from the king of all youth league sunshine pumpers.
  8. Fun game to watch. Lady Cru down by 4 at half (28-24 I believe) on a bucket by Lloyd just before the buzzer. 2nd half, St. Henry goes from 4 down to 4 up in the first few minutes. Lloyd couldn't get much closer than that the remainder of the game but did hit some clutch baskets in the closing minutes to keep it in doubt. Very proud of these girls. Lost their (by far) leading scorer and rebounder half way thru the season and since then have slowly learned how to adapt and overcome against such adversity. Up next- @ Dixie on Fri for the 34th District Championship. Great job Cru!!!
  9. So they had @ (47) Frosh on this past seasons team and they are increasing that by (40) kids? 1) How do they really know that many will come out? These are 8th graders 2/3's of the way through the current school year. Are they already enrolled or something? 2) Great problem to have I guess, but how in the world do they organize that and get kids on the field? I know Cov Cath basketball briefly considered creating two Frosh teams in order to get as many as possible playing, but in the end, the KHSAA dictates that Frosh only play a certain # of games period, regardless how many Frosh teams you field. So if you play 20 total games, team A plays 10 and team B plays 10.
  10. You coached at a different school but we're you also employed by that same school? That might be the difference.
  11. Question- did the Rice girl play Varsity over at Ryle last year?
  12. Yes- you are all about facts
  13. Citing Mike Webster - from 1993- good stuff.
  14. Creepy is what I would call it- but to each there own I guess
  15. No, I mean- why are you sending film out for "plenty of kids"? Where they your kids?
  16. 1,000% AGREE!!! Look at what all this petitioning to move up and down and granting these requests has resulted in- a mere 12 months later they are already talking about re-alignment and placing schools where they really belong enrollment wise. Not to mention that for some reason, this most recent re-alignment was based on a four year average enrollment vs the two year average which they had been using for a decade prior. So here they are again- resolved nothing. Play where your population puts you and be done!!!
  17. Roy Walton was the man. Hopefully this young man was fortunate enough to be around his Grandfather enough to learn some of the valuable life lessons that so many others youngsters before him were blessed to receive.
  18. Please stop the madness- this thread ran out if gas four pages ago
  19. Yeah- no reason, except a million. Starting with convincing all the private schools in those states agreeing to split off and create this league you describe. Oh yeah- travel should be fun too. But what the heck- all those private schools need to do is open up that little trapdoor that leads to all the money they hoard.
  20. I don't agree. I thought they let them play on both sides. It was a physical style that benefitted Conner much more than St. Henry to be sure, but the whistles were consistent. If it had been called tighter, it might have been a slightly different game. It was a fairly even game the first half, but the big difference in this one was: 1) Turnovers 2) Free Throws (Conner hit theirs, St. Henry did not) 3) Three pointers (same as above)
