Congratulations to an outstanding and well coached Lady Raider team. Good luck the rest of the season.

Appears that the Cru really struggled. Hopefully better days ahead for this young team.

Hats off to a scrappy St Henry team that never gave up. Lady raiders with too much length and talent in this one. Hard to stop Ryle with M Scherr knocking down 5 treys, Lang slashing to basket, Jones and Schwartz around double figures..defensively Ryle must have had over 10 block shots..at least half from Jump..erased any inside scoring threat. Again hats off to Lady Crew..good luck to Lady Raiders Saturday!

In a loss SHDHS proved to be a classy team. They celebrated what success they had and I found myself thoroughly enjoying their spunk and spirit. When the subs finished out the game the seniors cheered their heads off in support of the younger players. Nice to see. That goes for the coaches too.

Game was very close for a quarter. St Henry was determined early on not to let the ball get pounded inside and stuck to a 2-3 zone pretty much the whole game- sent players off the free throw line when St. Henry shot to mitigate the chance of a runout.

 

Being very deliberate with the O and the 2-3 seemed to pay off initially. Then Scherr started stroking it from 3 and that started an avalanche that just couldn't be stopped. Every once in a while, it would have been nice to see the Lady Cru attempt a pump fake- but that didn't happen and I'd bet there were double digit blocks in the paint.

 

Thank you Taylor Potts for your time and your leadership. This season didn't turn out as everyone wanted- having just one Senior in Potts and their leading scorer and rebounder (Paige Noble) go down mid season (along with the usual in season injuries that plague every team) hurt the chances of a winning season and going deeper in the Tournament.

 

Some very nice players coming back next year including all 5 starters. Six Seniors (Noble, Kellam, Voskhul, Darlington, Ackley and Palladino) To go along with some key Juniors like Benson, Millay, Kosko, Cline, Landry and Handorff not to mention Freshman Chisom Iloegbunam who has a terrific future.

 

Hold your heads up Lady Cru- stay healthy and work on your game over the summer!
