  1. Would love to see Dee Mucker get a shot at this job. Very well connected to youth programs in the county. Been an assistant and defensive coordinator for many years at the high school level in JCPS. Top notch person who you would want your kids around and who would be an excellent mentor and role model. Would be able to relate to the kids and parents and give Seneca a great shot at building and maintaining a solid roster size.
  2. 2016 Pre-season 1 - Trinity 2 - Male 3 - St. Xavier 4 - Simon Kenton 5 - Scott County 6 - PRP 7 - Lafayette 8 - Central Hardin 9 - Henderson Co 10 - Cooper
  3. Couldn't agree more! Egli has done a very solid job at Nelson. Just like most all other coaches the years he has better players he has good years. The years where talent and experience are lacking they have a rougher year. The guy can coach. Period.
  4. I would say, "What in the name of Kevin Wallace and Ty Scroggins are you talking about?"
  5. Marion County would be very fortunate to have Josh Jaggers. He had some good players his first year and beat some very good teams. Then he had to deal with a talent slide and chose to go young knowing it would be rough but the future would be brighter. Unfortunately, he didn't get the chance to see it through but LaRue 'should' see the benefits from that decision over the course of the next two seasons. Jaggers' wife is from Marion and he would be willing to establish roots and relationships (youth, MS, players, community) needed to build that program. The tough decisions that he made at LaRue show that he is willing to build a program for the long term. All of that should appeal greatly to the powers that be in Lebanon.
  6. Josh Jaggers would be great for Marion County. They already have a solid DC in place with Matthew Mattingly. It would work out well because Josh is an offensive guy. He knows that area well and has family all over that area so there are roots. Plus, he is the kind of guy you would want your son to play for.
  7. J-Town Defense dominated. Had 5 picks on the night including a pick six by Dakota White. Dylan Adkins rushed for over 100 yards and had two scores. Chargers match their win total from last year against a team that had won 11 or 12 of their last 14 games coming in.
  8. Great updates, PP92! Keep them coming!
  9. Who in their district was ahead of them in the Cats Pause?
  10. With what Garrard has coming back with their Senior class I do expect them to be competitive with anyone in their region this year. Not sure beyond this year. And I don't really know if Lex Cath was a #1 ranked team in 95 and 96 (I will take your word on it) but I do remember one year where Garrard beat Beechwood early one year when Perry was there in the 90's.
  11. H How did Franklin do against Montgomery?
  12. He was, but Lex Cath was also just beginning their program, at that time. Anyone could see that they were about to blow up. So, being in a district with both them and Boyle (not to mention Danville) was going to be a whole different situation for Garrard. Boyle and Lex Cath were about to explode on the state-wide scene at the same time.
  13. Beechwood has to be the heavy favorite to win state in 1A this year
  14. Yes, I would say Russellville and Crittenden County are mighty pleased Mayfield is moving to 2A and will battle it out for some Region titles in the coming years.
  15. I agree it was tougher on Garrard than any team in 3A, but E'Town is actually in Region 1 and not Garrard's Region 2. Garrard could have won the region in their previous alignment with the team they have coming back this year. Another interesting point here is that the last time Garrard was put in a district with LexCath and Boyle was from 97-2000. Jerry Perry resigned from Garrard before that 1997 season and avoided that gauntlet. Now he gets to face it in his 2nd season this time around.
  16. In terms of easiest path to a region title it is Belfry. They should be in the semis easily for the next 4 years. Other than Belfry, E'Town has the least amount of challenges for a district title with Lou. Central close behind.
  17. Group 1 - Best shot to win state in comparison to their previous realignment: 1-Johnson Central 2-Beechwood 3-John Hardin Will likely not win state, but best shot to win region in comparison to their previous alignment: 1-All 6A teams outside of Louisville who, apparently, now won't have to face any Louisville powers previous to state semifinals of districts will not be rotating for playoff pairings as they did in the last alignment 2-2-Mercer Co. 3-Fern Creek 4-Russellville/Crittenden Co. 5-Warren Central
  18. What are their numbers like for this year? I know they will be solid at QB. What about everywhere else?
  19. The redistricting that is most likely to negatively affect South Warren is when the KHSAA reclassifies school again. In two years it will be very likely that SW will have enough of an enrollment to move up to 5A where BGHS will await as a district mate. Although, they may not actually make the move up to 5A until 2019 when the whole state is reclassified by the KHSAA. Long story short, SW doesn't have much time to win a state title.
  20. Is McWhorter going back to Berea?
  21. Prayers for Pete and the Nochta family
  22. I agree with your rankings but would give an edge to Henry Clay over Lafayette just off of the recent history of Lafayette underachieving. I would also say (since this is a Dunbar thread) that if PLD was in Lafayettes district that they could possibly win it. And if Lafayette was in Dunbar's district they could very well finish 3rd or even 4th. The Lexington area 6A districts are not very competitively balanced at the moment.
  23. Dunbar is absolutely loaded this year. They return something like 19 of 22 starting positions from last year. Not sure they can compete with Henry Clay or Lafayette but should give Station a good run and should be much better than Tates Creek. This should be the best Dunbar team since early 2000's.
  24. Yes. They. Will. But, how long they will get to drive that ship is a bigger question. By my count, only 4 of those jobs opened due to head coaches taking another job on the list (Boone, Owensboro, Southern, Woodford). Only 5 opened due to coaches retiring from the profession (Bullitt Central, Glasgow, McCracken, Union, Warren East). And, there were 2 that opened due to extenuating personal circumstances (Marion, North Bullitt). That's only 11 of the 51 jobs. What happened in the other 40 jobs.................. My numbers may be a bit off, but the coaching profession has changed dramatically in the past decade.
