Rockcastle County/Bourbon County Updates
Disappointing showing for my Colonels. Need to sure up some disciplinary things, love to see them go more vertical in the passing game with Whetstine and Ransom. Can't take anything away from Rockcastle D they're solid.

4A #10 Rockcastle County vs Bourbon County 8-26-16
Bourbon County has a RB that is a star in the making in Sophomore RB Adam Renfro, in a previous post I said think Brent Holman's style with Kentayvus Hopkins body. On D they'll be led by Dalton Williams, and T.J. Whetstine. The key for a Colonels victory could be there vertical passing game and if Titus Ransom is healthy after sitting out against Knott Central in a scrimmage and finding a QB out of the 3 they've rotated throughout the scrimmages. Whetstine is also a proven target in the receiving game.

Bourbon County 38 Knott County Central 16 (Scrimmage)
Knott scored on Bourbon's 3rd string D twice late in the game. Knott doesn't look to have much outside of their QB. Bourbon played 3 QB's IMO #15 was the better of the three by far. Titus Ransom Bourbons deep threat was out tonight as well as lineman Dalton Tucker who was at the state fair showing sheep. Bourbon has a RB to watch as a sophomore #9 not the shiftiest but he'll run you over and doesn't shy away from contact think Brent Holman's game with Kentayvus Hopkins body.

Can anyone confirm this final Bourbon Co. 38 Mercer 6? Just what I heard, not sure.

Lots to like here, Trinity, Lafayette, Scott Co., Ryle stand out to me. None would surprise me to see in the finals.

Bluegrasspreps' 2016 Class 3A Pre-Season Preview
Until someone knocks Belfry off their perch 3A is theirs. Lex Cath is likely to come out and meet them again, but do not count out Caldwell Co. But Belfry runs this show.

Bourbon County 2016
You will likely hear the name Tyler Whetstine a lot when attending Colonel games this fall the junior accumulated 31 catches 485 yards and 5 TD's on the offensive side of the ball and 134 tackles, 3 fumble recoveries, and 3 interceptions on defense last season 2nd only to his junior counterpart Dalton Williams who racked up 144 tackles. The key for the Colonels and some one maybe able to answer this question is who will get the ball to Whetstine and flashy WR Titus Ransom who could arrive onto the scene this season after showing flashes last season. The Colonels have been grooming Austen Hamelback to take over at QB since he was in middle school but with the likes of Clay Bolin behind center it's easy to see why Hamelback hasn't seen much time. Another young man with loads of athleticism is Trevor Lucky, the problem presenting itself maybe Lucky can play many positions including WR whereas Hamelback is a QB. Some other names I'll be keeping an eye on are WR/DB Gage Robinson, and OL/LB Zach Hawkins. I've been waiting on Jonathan Duncan to explode onto the scene and with the backfield wide open this could be his year to showcase his talents. A young man who could show out this year but may be a year off is CaMarr Myers. Kyle Bradford is also a heavy hitter and should be right up there with Williams and Whetstine as leaders on the defensive side of the ball. I've also heard there maybe some new talent in Paris. So I expect the Colonels D to be stout, while their offense takes some time to find themselves. Key players are all juniors so should be very memorable season next year.

Mason County 2016
So sad to see Mason on such hard times, hope they can right the ship soon. I'll pass along what info I know on Bourbon in their thread.

Bourbon County 2014
OFFENSE The glaring loss for me will be at QB, Trevor Lucky was a star in the middle school ranks and will be a sophomore but is he ready? The Colonels will be fine in the backfield with Brent Holman and Marquaze Hill. Jonathan Duncan showed he is the future at the RB position for the Colonels. At WR Terrell Roberts will be the Colonels main threat. Kyler Hodges and Dalton Turner who could also be the Colonels QB have also shown flashes of being capable to hold their own. DO NOT FORGET TE Tyler Ishmael who isn't scared to put his head down to pick up extra yardage. Colton Gibson will anchor the Colonels OL, and Jorge Mendez proved to be a key cog despite being just a sophomore last season. Clayton & Hanson Cox are two young men I look forward to seeing how they progressed as well as Steven Stinnett. DEFENSE DL is a place the Colonels have holes, Jorge Mendez also proved he was more then capable and strong enough to get into the backfield despite his youth. The young man to watch who could become a star at DE is DeQuantae Allen. Tyler Ishmael and Shelby Jackson will give the Colonels a nice LB duo, throw in Holman and the hole of Dakota Mitchell's departure is filled as best as it can be. A young face to remember at LB is Chandler Thomas. Terrell Roberts will lock down one of the starting CB spots and if I was a betting man Marquaze Hill will play on the other side. Shelby Jackson and Dalton Turner will also see time at DB. SCHEDULE I have no schedule yet for the Colonels.

3A Playoffs: Russell at Bourbon County predictions
Dalton was dressed Friday night, and tossing the ball around. The boot is off, he says just whenever he feels ready to go. I expect Bourbon not to use him at least until against Mason County but may not need him there either, but I expect them to play him for game reps against the Royals. Just a hunch, no inside info.

Franklin County (8-0/3-0) @ Anderson County (6-1/#-0)
Give me Franklin County , saw Lorenzo McCaskill last year against Frankfort and fell in love with his game. Two much skill for Anderson, IMO.

Garrard County/Bourbon County Updates
Bourbon Co.'s starting C was also hurt midway through the 2nd qtr. 2 of Bourbons 3 fumbles are from QB/C exchange. The other was a muffed punt on a weird bounce.

Bourbon County/Lincoln County Updates
This game was played last night, Bourbon won 55-14. Lincoln moved the ball pretty well but had a ton of turnovers. Just like the Montgomery County game, Bourbon's ability to sub in and out wore on the opponent.

Favorite Friday Night Announcers
I like Greg Rose at Campbell, but Bourbon County's guy is energetic and has some good slogans. Also Montgomery County's was poor he continually called out the wrong players.

Bourbon County vs. Lincoln County predictions
Wondering if Bourbon and Boyle will play next year, or Lincoln-Boyle and Bourbon vs. someone else.

Bourbon County 48 Montgomery County 12
Brent Holman named MVP at Rec Bowl. Colonels D started out shaky but settled down.

Rowan County @ Bourbon County (Scrimmage) 8/16
I didn't see anyone D-1 level at Rowan, IMO.
-
Rowan County @ Bourbon County (Scrimmage) 8/16
The Final Score was 48-0. For those worrying about the Colonels future it looked pretty bright as well. Rowan Co. had a pretty nice line on both sides of the ball but need more skill guys. Pope and Snoop connected twice for TD's, Bourbon has another WR named Roberts to go along with Hilander which should keep teams from doubling up on Snoop. Marquaze Hill the Colonels RB was held out due to concussion symptoms, so was OL Lucas Rutledge from what I was told. Brent Holman carried most of the Colonels RB load throught out the varsity portion of the scrimmage. Dakota Mitchell was Dakota Mitchell-esque playing all over the field and racking up tackles. Hilander has slid over to safety where Hopkins played last season and Roberts is opposite Johnson at CB. Plenty of young Colonels that stood out were Edmonds, Duncan, Lucky, Thomas, Mendes.
