Why are coaches leaving and kids not playing? Is this a cause for concern?

I noticed in the paper that the Ashland coaching staff had some new faces. This made me think, how many asst. coaches has Biggs gone through in his tenure? Next thought was, gee I can come up with at least 4 kids in the hallways that might just be better than the team on the floor.

I am saying that is what I have heard. If I were a bettin man I would not pick Ironton.

Maybe, but it would be a long drive from Columbus to Ironton to be the second option for a former team.

I am hearing that Jake Long will be leavning Ashland and transferring.

I believe Russell has more in the running game than just Korzep, Conley is a pretty formidable runner in his own right and Cole has the speed to break one as well. I do agree that Korzep is the leader if you attack his game you are attacking the head. All things being said a 3 hour bus ride is tough. If Belfry doesnt put it on the ground they will play in the final yet again. This game will be close throughtout I believe but eventually Belfry gets up two scores and without a true deep threat it will be hard to overcome a two score deficit. I say Belfry 28-14.

Lot of pressure on coach Salmons to have a good game plan this week.

No offense intended for any, I am just the type of guy that when I lose I bear the blame. I demand perfection from myself. If I fail, I tip my hat.

IF Raceland players didnt grade out 100% against Williamsburg last year, how can execution not be a reason for the loss?

OBryan wore 32 for last few away games because the white jersey shrunk. He is a junior.

How many players does Ashland have in each class? How about this If Raceland has 15 in each class why are they not covering 1A every year by platooning?

How many players in each class 10-12 would it take for a team to platoon?

Highlands didnt win this game in the second half becasue Ashland players were spent. Ashland played even in the second half, actually up 8-7, until the coaches felt like a 4th and 11 from their own 19 with 6 minutes left was their only chance to tie the game. After the play failed Highland scored the second touchdown two plays later. Ashland went all in on that play with still enough chips to cover the blinds for another hand.

Ryan Switzer played every snap for GW. He kicked and punted. Why? Becuase with a guy that good you better have him on the field.

There are advantages no doubt. If Ashland was ever gonna go that route they should have started it Sam Hunter's senior year. They had two stacked classes of upper classmen, but even that team played Whetsel, Justice, OBryan, Prichard, McLeod, and Gregg both ways. Is that why they lost to Cov Cath in the playoffs? I dont think so.

He has caught more TD passes than Megatron this year I believe. So are you ok with picking your spots with kids both ways? If so, how is that not different that what I suggested?

Doesnt answer the Collins or Cov Cath question. Bottom line is that during the last alignment, Highlands had everybody covered whether they platooned or not.

I do think Ashland has some kids that dont see the field very much that are capable of contributing.

How did Collins win? Why does Cov Cath not win a state title?
