oldrambler Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 Same two teams in this Semi as last season. Last season at Williamsburg saw the Jackets break out in the 2nd half and put a good ol' fashion butt kickin' on the Rams. This Semi Final re match is at Raceland's Ram Stadium. Both teams are boasting of a strong defense. Raceland's secondary / pass defense is excellent, very few if any opponets have thrown the football with any success on Raceland this season. Raceland has done most of their damage on offense on the ground with several different backs and sets, Snider, Christian and Messer leading the ground attack. The Rams have also thrown the football with success this season with Josh Young, Conner Messer leading the way. I look forward to hear from the Williamsburg fans on their team. Jacket fans .... what does your team do well, strengths that have gotten you to this point ? Who Advances to the 1A Championship Game ?
Bac2369 Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 Williamsburg is scary good. Last year I wasn't impressed but this years team I am.
oldrambler Posted November 22, 2014 Author Posted November 22, 2014 One piece of advice to any of the Williamsburg fans making the trip. ....Try the Rams Sausage Dogs at the Grill.....they are Excellent :thumb:. Raceland's concession stand / food is the best around this area,
oldrambler Posted November 22, 2014 Author Posted November 22, 2014 Williamsburg is scary good. Last year I wasn't impressed but this years team I am. Is most of their success on offense in running or the passing game ? Who are some of their standout players and how's there defense ? The Jacket defense was the only team that Raceland couldn't move the football against last season.
HT721 Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 Williamsburg run defense anchors things on d. Offense is a lot more ground and pound than in years past but they are pretty good at passing when they have to.
UK fball fan Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 I like W'Burg on the road in this one. Jackets 34 Rams 21
hrcarrier Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 I watched Williamsburg earlier in the season against Newport and was very impressed with their speed. IMO, they will make it back to Bowling Green.

Qb is solid and very fast and will roll out and throw on occasions. They have several playmakers. Griffith, Massey, Shelton and Patrick very good playmakers. There defense is much better than last year. Run defense stopped Brandon Jones all night. I think he had 5 yards on 11 carries. I think there pass defense can be picked apart with a good quarterback with time to throw. This team is more balanced than last year and really impressed me with how they played tonight against Hazard. The best advice is not give them easy points and make sure on punts you block otherwise they will block it. Hazard come out after halftime and scored and they went for an onside kick and touched it to early and it give them a short field. Hazard drove down to the 10 twice one a bad snap over the QBs head took it back 20 yards and another an Interception that I thought hit ground that was took back 50 plus yards.
Little Ram Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 I feel confident in the Rams this week. I know this senior class doesn't want to lose to Williamsburg for a third. I think the coaches will watch last year's film and see what happened last year. I will make my prediction later in the week.
Sport of Kings Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 I called the Hazard game ( I had 49-7 ) because Williamsburg's D is as impressive as their offensive system they run... I expect the same result this coming Friday in Raceland... My early thought is 42-14, the Burg...
Bac2369 Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 I hope this Ram team gets there chance to win this game but they need to play mistake free and get off the field on 3rd down because Hazard sure didnt.

The Jacket defense was the only team that Raceland couldn't move the football against last season. I believe they returned the entire starting defense from last year. Helton, Patrick, Wilson and one other player whose name escapes me anchor the D.

Hopefully the Raceland coaches will let you with breaking down film, and come up with a game plan for this week so Raceland doesn't get outcoached again this year. The bus ride excuse is already gone. Good luck.
