I wouldn't say it would be easy, but it's not as big as Cooper. Cooper is just a little smaller than Freedom.

At this point you would have to say Dixie on this also.

I can't agree more Dingerbird. Nothing to my knowledge has been reported for Cooper. I do know this player for sure and him only. Dunn, through 17 games. R-8, OAB-46, H-25, SGL-15, DBL-10, BB-12, K-2, RBI's-20, BA-.543, OB%-.629

I think Coach Meyerhoff actually called it the "Worth" pitch. But, Football, Worth or what I really look at it as is Slurve. The slower the velocity the more loop to the pitch. The harder the thrower the sharper the break. As far as strain it's not a pronation pitch i.e. Fastball, Sinker or Change. Dunn throws the same pitch. Some scouts have thought curve and others slider. IMO, this is a mix of the two, Slurve.

I would think the norm for most high school pitchers, at least in this area, is around 75mph. There are kids that will sit in the low 80's and that would be considered an ACE of the staff. 71mph isn't too far off the norm IMO. I've gunned quite a few kids over the years and that seems to be the average. You obviously get the parents that will say "My boy was hitting 81mph the other day" and when I put the gun on them, it seems to be a different story. Just food for thought!:thumb:

As long as my boy T Ganns stays down in the zone, I will take Boone. If he's up in the zone CCH hitters are pretty solid and could make this tough on him. Live down and they win!

Great Win for the Cougars and a crushing blow to the Jags! I do want to say this.....there are maybe a handful of umpires in this area that call the plate the way it should be called, no matter how hard someone is throwing. Roth and Arnsbarger are 2 that come to mind. There are maybe 3-4 max passed them and that is it. Some of these guys DO NOT need to be behind the plate because I really don't think they can pick up the speed of the baseball. It seems like the harder you throw up here, the more you are squeezed and the corners become non-existent. The reason I mention this is that puts pitch counts up and it becomes very hard to complete a game. Not taking anything away from the Cougars AT ALL. They battled and did what they had to do to win the game. Kudo's to the Cougars!!!

Wow....This must have been a wild one. Sounds like both Pitchers did well and gave the fans what they ask for. From what I've read on this thread some parents must have some bad blood. Holy Cow! I like both teams, but do lean a little more on the Cooper side. Good luck the rest of the way!

Haven't been on here is quite some time, but I would have to question what Cooper was doing only starting 2 starters against a top ranked team? I'm all for giving people a rest but would really like to know what happened. They didn't even throw from what I hear any of their top 3 or 4 pitchers. Just wondering! I usually get some good inside info, but all I got was "Lost 8-1 and 2 Starters played. I did hear that the King kid pitched very good though.

King pitched a very solid game. Had some pretty decent velocity and was hitting his spots with his fastball. Most K's the Jags have had all season in a game. Hat's off to Mr. King!!!

Ra-Ra............Look...........Why would you even bring this back up again? Let this thing fizzle out. Things were said by both sides and I don't think Cooper or Boone would debate that. The BIGGEST problem was the disrespect towards the injuries that occured. That is really what got things started amongst both fan bases. I have already said this and I trully feel that's why things escalated. Let it go!

Bottom line is that it was a great battle. Lost in this is 2 kids, that are very good, respect each other and are good friends giving it all they had. We got to see a battle of 2 kids going to play D1 baseball. How often do we even get the chance to see that. I have the utmost respect for Mr. T Ganns and Mr. H Dunn. It was worth the price of admission to see these 2 battle it out. They left in on the field and that's all you can ask for.
