Since we have the pitchers topic, we dont want to leave anyone out. Who has stood out in NKY? Where do they rank in the state? Anyone have stats to back up their claims?

No stats but Highlands seems to have a very potent offense. Many different players seem to step up in different games to lead them.

Don't have stats for Cooper either but it is the best hitting team in their Schools history. They have a very potent lineup from 1-6 that some parents have nicknamed murderers row.

 

In games the starters have played they are averaging around 9 runs a game and close to double digits in hits. The biggest surprise is coming from a player who was overlooked the last couple years with the old coaching staff in Alex Holland who is simply tearing it up. I don't have the numbers for him but do know he already had around 8 RBI's after the first 3 games of the season and has also showed some serious pop in his bat with several extra base hits including one round tripper knocked out at Cooper which is a field that has not given up many HR's in it's 6 year history. Their 3, 4 and 5 batters are the most fun to watch, especially with runners on base. Dunn, Hathorne and Holland is about as dangerous a trio in the lineup as any imo. You can't pitch around them because you then have to face another solid hitter in Lawhorn and Burgos as well as several first time varsity players this year in Dragon and Crail etc.

 

I really do wish their stats were somewhere because I'd love to see how many hits they have pounded thus far in the season. Averaging around 10 hits a game isn't too shabby.

I can't agree more Dingerbird. Nothing to my knowledge has been reported for Cooper. I do know this player for sure and him only. Dunn, through 17 games.

I am not sure BW posts stats anywhere. Through 15 games Combs was at .605 BA, 4 HR and 30 RBI's. I have no idea what he has done in the past week but BA might have dipped some.

I know Jake Whitford (HHS) was hitting .650 something as of last week..

I have not seen Ryle play this year, but last year I would have led this conversation with Mason Forbes. I am sure that hasnt changed. Usual names, Whitford, Combs, Stringer, Suchanek also. A kid that needs consistency but hits the ball as hard as anyone is Todd Ramey. Crazy pop in that bat. Zach Pangallo has battled back from a hoops injury, but IMO will always be in this conversation. Not sure there is a better groupung than that first four at BW? All 4 of them ovee .500, I believe 9 HR between them.
