Was a bummer the game was called. Who knows what would have happened. Anyway, an NKU Rep said that they are working to have them within the next year or two. Made a comment that they are required to have them since they moved into Division 1.

I heard they did this with some of the normal starters not even playing. That seems pretty good no matter what team you play. Good game to see what some of the other players have to offer IMO.

Thank you Hellbird. This was not meant bad towards either team. I was at the State Basketball tournament and going off some information given to me. Holy Cow!

And that's what I heard. This was not in anyway trying to put down Boone what-so-ever. But, that the suppossed 2 and 3 for Highlands were very solid. Period!

Easy there Rocky.....This was not a dig at the Birds at all. My friend, Big Cat, that was at some of the game and he said that their 2 and 3 were pretty tough. In regards to the Cooper comment, that was just conversation in regards to who Cooper had face so far and how they were hitting.

Didn't get to see this one, but from what I heard and what your saying that was the case for sure. No answers in the first 4 innings and ran themselves out of a few innings. I am surprised at 2 things for Cooper though....11 hits and Dunn hitting 89 this early in the year and htting spots. Wow!!!

From what I heard they faced the 2 and 3 for Highlands. 1 threw against Cooper. I was told that Cooper has only faced Aces the first 2 games.

That's sad that this is something that happens quite a bit whenever you travel south. Happens in the spring and summer. You should always prepare to play against more than 9 players. Won't say this happens with every one of them, but I would give it an 8 out of 10. Anyway, hope my boy T Ganns heals up quick!!!:thumb:

I think you are correct on the 2 scrimmages and 1 game yesterday against Boone. Boone going into yesterdays game had 1 scrimmage against Scott and an opener against Holmes.

Very impressed with the Jags 11 hits. Leaving the small village of 9 hurts, but still very impressed. Nothing more to say about Dunn that hasn't already been said other than domination. This early in the year and hitting spots with all his pitches along with the velocity....NICE! I would also think that the Rohlman? kid that was brought up from JV really needs to stay. Really looked good IMO. Get the other 2 starters back and keep him on board and this should be a fun year. Overall, not bad at all for the first game of the year. Would have rather gotten the win, but, oh well!

Looks like most predictions were close. No Jones today though. Looks like he will go against Cooper tomorrow!

I really don't get that Mas is overlooked. He is mentioned quite a bit, so to say he's constantly overlooked I would say is incorrect. If I'm not mistaken he just started playing Varsity last year. That's usually when you start to hear things. He's a great kid and player that I really don't think is overlooked.

You need to remember that they have been in one of the two toughest districts since they started 6 years ago. Their district has been one of the toughest for quite some time. I'm not saying that they need to move up, but take a look at the framework of this district.

Not going to put down the JV level, but how many really good JV teams are there really in the area to compete against? OK...maybe that might be a downer JV, but I'm just trying to be realistic. I'm NOT jumping on the HHS wagon either. They will be good, along with a lot of other teams.

Glad to hear Mr. Marcum and Mr. Mundy are going to continue their baseball careers. Especially excited to see my son going to be caught by IMO the best catcher in the area this summer. Catchers can be butchers or Picasso's. Mr. Mundy is a Picasso for sure!:ylsuper:

@Rocky and Malibu....I would agree and disagree with your statements. I think this is a very solid list for sure. Some kids that didn't make it on here that have been mentioned, I do feel should be on here. 1. Who knows what coaches were used and did they see every player? 2. I want to see how a kid reacts to some of the best in the state. I feel that PBR looks at projectability and also the make-up of the kid as they see them at that instant. I could be totally wrong on this, but this is JMO. Supporting cast for all these kids are huge. You start flip flopping some of these kids around on different teams, and I feel there could be a different outlook, good and not so good. That's why I mentioned PBR because I feel you get to see how the kid really grades out. Everyone has the same pressure then. Once again, solid group of kids and this is JMO!

This is an interesting list. I would like for Chris Fuller of PBR put one of these together to see how they would compare.

Raiderbird...........Wish I would have selected "Godfather". That by far is the best choice. And you are correct with both statements regarding coaching and him as a person. Using the words of Coach Sanders....."OUTSTANDING" sums him up as just an overall person.

I agree with that for sure Dinger! I can tell you that this was the first thing I introduced to the Cooper parents 3 years ago. At that time they were at least given some tools as a parent to help their child. I don't know of any program that actually does that. The sad thing is I don't think this is something that stayed in place since my departure. I feel that giving the parents some tools is the least they could do. Let the parent work from there.

Reading through all these threads I think the Beechwood boys better be ready to have the biggest BULLSEYE on their back any team has had around here for quite some time. JMO!

Dinger....You have missed the Mac Daddy in Coach Sanders of Bellevue/Bluegrass Chiefs. He does more for kids than any coach I know. He even helps them once they have graduated. I don't know if Mr. Mullins does anything like that. Coach Sanders or the organization he started back in 91, if I recall correctly, don't seem to get the credit they deserve. It's always Midland, Flames and was even a Florence Freedom for a time, getting all the credit. Not going to take anything away from those organizations, but come on man!
