  1. If you feel he should be added to the list then make your list and show where he is. Brossart lost a ton and have a couple of studs with Norton and Verst left. They might have had 1 kid left from that incredible team last year along with those 2 that got starting time on the varsity team. I don't know if at this point that would be considered a huge win based on what I mentioned above. Not taking anything away from him, but how battle tested is he? JMO!
  2. BlueTip I would say your being generous on the 80 call actually. Most of the "Flame Throwers" around here are between 82-84 best. Like Bluebird man said, there is only one that pushes above the mid 80's mark consistanly, and yes he is from Cooper like he said.
  3. Was talking to a parent most of the game. Don't know Heppler, so didn't know if he was a righty or lefty. Now I know!:isurrender: I did think that they ran 2 lefties but obviously not. They do sell Adult Beverages out of my car though!!!
  4. Hmmm.....I thought they had used Heppler the first 3 and then Davis 2 to cover the first 5 innings. Guess I wasn't paying much attention. Thought they had used 4 pitchers for the game.
  5. If Cooper is moving Dunn to 3B from SS like I read on here, then between him and Setser, which I feel is a very solid 1B, would make them a pretty solid combo. I've seen a lot of these kids from this area play in the summer and that seems to be where I have seen Dunn the most and he looked more natural there compared to SS. Not knocking him at that postion, he just looked very unsure of himself the game I had seen.
  6. The way this is laid out you are correct. 84 is the top speed he hit and 3mph is on the high end when doing their FB avg.. Normally it's 2mph which would put him at 78-80, but like you said 78-81 would work also. This kid should have been throwing from 60'6". He would be considered an older Frosh from what I read on his birthdate. Don't know the projectability but seems to be pretty solid. There aren't many kids in this area that even touch those numbers as a Frosh or Soph.. Acutually, you could probably count on 1 hand how many high school kids even throw 85+ in this area. Their parents might think they do but they just don't have a clue when it comes to that speed. I've even had a parent ask me what their son gunned at and I told him an he said, well he just threw 80+ the day before. I laughed and said, I don't know what to say, batteries are all charged up and it's NOT a cheap gun. He later came back to me and said I was right, that he had been mis-informed. Anyway, pretty solid for his age.
  7. JMO....This can change once the season gets going and we get to see what's put on the field. What TEAM overall has the best pitching? Cooper What TEAM overall has the best outfield? Conner/Ryle What TEAM overall has the best catchers? Brossart What TEAM overall has the best corner infielders? HC/Cooper What TEAM Overall has the best double play combo? SH
  8. You are exactly right with the paper comment. I would hope that the fielding would be better. Who are the 4 that have offers to play baseball and where? Actually, who do they have that even have D1 schools looking at them?
  9. Didn't know this either. That is were I've seen him play in the summer. He's a different player at 3B. Meyerhoff supposedly wouldn't take him off 3B for anything.
  10. Out of the gates I'm taking the SH combo. If another comes out as the season goes this could change.
  11. I don't really know the 10th that well, but you would have to take the 2 kids for Harrison Co. and Verst from Brossart. The other kid I've mentioned before, but don't know how much he will pitch is Wells from Scott.
  12. Needs a little more arm. Hands and feet not bad. I would say he must be pretty decent since he's playing for ATY. I would think he's gotten stronger since I last seen him play.
  13. So, with what your saying this kid should be playing for the BIG Midland team this summer, the Redskins. If he's averaging 84-85 as an 8th grader they will have him up with them. Not going to take anything away from the kid, but that's a bold statement to say he'll bi-pass college and go straight into the draft, not that that couldn't happen. As mentioned by someone else on this thread, not all the Midland teams are what they used to be. All there monies and efforts are put into there Redskin's team and maybe a little goes to their Braves team.
  14. I would suspect Booth to be at 2B.
  15. I agree with raiderbird on everything but his hands. IMO they could be much softer. I would put him as average hands from what I've seen of him. Not taking anything away from him, just a weakness IMO. Great player!!!
  16. Someone who throws hard with late movement on their FB can be extremely hard to catch compared to the kid that doesn't throw quite as hard. I agree to a point about the breaking stuff. If a kid that throws a 75mph compared to a kid that throws 65mph. If both are equal in regards to both having good breaking balls the 75 would be harder IMO compared the the 65mph. It's just on the catcher quicker.
  17. Congrats Dawgs....keep rollin!!!:thumb:
  18. I will go with Rogers and Taylor........Can we stick with combo's? :taz:
  19. Don't agree, but your opinion just like all this is. This is what I'm talking about Redzone7. :thumb:
  20. 1. Dunn - Cooper 2. Verst - Brossart 3. Cain - NCC 4. Maines - Conner 5. Ganns - Boone 6. Ward - CC 7. Hoard - Ryle 8. Collins - Cooper 9. Suchanek - BW 10.Kuebbing - SH
  21. Not going to deny you can be effective and not throw 80+, but I will say that a catcher can also "Butcher" a kid that throws harder just because it's tougher for them to catch someone throwing like that. That can be seen a lot in HS Baseball unless you have a stud behind the dish that can handle the heat. Now back to our top 10!
  22. OK.....somehow this got way off the subject. This was list your top ten. Not talk about a kid throwing 90, what kids did last year or this or that kid should be on the list. Just make a list.....pretty simple. Put the kids out there you feel on the top pitchers. Bluebirdman seems to be the only one that followed directions other than adding some other kid or kids from another region. I like it though, so open it up to NKY boys.
  23. Starting from 1-10 let's see how the ARM's RACE polls..:ylsuper:
