I can't argue with Jimmy's list. Just curious how Cooper's outfield will end up. They have 5 legitimate starters for 3 spots, and when I say 5 starters I'm talking about their defensive abilities. One of the best arms in the outfield on this squad in Nick Carr. He has a cannon from Cneterfield.

I will never forget back to back plays he made 2 years ago from center. 1st play a single hit to centerfield, runners on 1st and 2nd, man from 2nd tried to score and Nick was about 25 feet from the wall and threw a BB to home to nail the guy, all on a line drive throw that didn't hit the ground. Guy from 1st advansed to 3rd.

Next batter hits a fly ball to center, not shallow, and the guy on 3rd tags and is thrown out by 2 steps from another BB thrown from Nick. 2 of the best throws I seen in HS ball and both were on back to back plays.

I don't know much baseball, but I'm sure its Highlands.

Ryle sould have an outstanding outfield with Forbes, Baumann, and Clarkson and a host of other very good players who will see some time out there. The starting three will have a ton of speed and some very strong arms.

As far as pitching goes, you'd have to give the nod the NCC with their two big arms returning.

i like your list Jimmy and what about the Drew crane kid cooperstown..? or the Tyler Mason kid? the only game i went to last year, was the regional game against NCC and i believe he was starting?

I am certain Mason will be starting somewhere. Got to have a stick like that in the lineup. Might see time at 1B, DH, and OF, as well as on the mound. Not quite as familiar with Crane. I won't say you're wrong about him starting last year in regionals, but I don't think he was. I know he's highly thought of by coaching staff.

Thanks Cooperstown! And no, I was talking about Tyler mason starting left last year, or at least the game I saw. When you said Forbes would be starting left I was confused about if Tyler graduated or if he was playing.

I honestly don't know if Forbes will be starting in LF or not. He's certain to be one of the leading candidates to do so. Baumann in CF and Clarkson in RF are locks. And Mason will definitely be on the field somewhere. Pretty certain Coach Roesel considers this one of his deepest teams in several years.

How will their pitching be? I know Downs is gone.. Who is on the rotation this year?

No disrespect, but how does Copper have the best corner infielders?

I would think they have to find a place for Forbes somewhere in the starting lineup. He's an excellent SS also and wouldn't be surprised if he see's time in left and SS this year, but I deffinatley think they need to find someplace for him to play to keep him in the lineup on a daily basis.

Ryle has always been pretty deep in baseball, last year there were several kids on JV that would be playing if not starting on several Varsity teams but the numbers game held them to JV last year....Forbes being one of them.

He has a nice bat, but SS is not a position for him. His arm strength is an issue there.

I just read that Forbes threw 82 on the infield throw at a recent showcase. That's plenty strong.

If you have watched him play over the years, you would know that his best position is the outfield not SS. Just because you throw 82 in a controlled environment doesn't mean you can play SS. Not knocking the young mans play, but he is a better outfielder than SS.
