Cherry Picker

Boone JV beat Highlands JV today. Boone will be in Championship game.

So the final four are: Cov Cath vs. New Cath and Boone vs. Highlands. Good Luck teams!

If this tournament was seeded by overall record, how would each team be seeded? I believe Cov Cath is #1.

The only girl nominated from the state of Ky.

NO - Never held back

FYI - Highlands cancelled this game not Boone. Boone County was very disappointed they didn't get to play.

Any box score? stats?

8th grader Carson Williams (younger brother of Sawyer) made all-tournament team. Great minutes and some huge rebounds to help Owen win.

Final at Boone

Boone beat Graves County in championship to win tournament.

Final from Newport

The player blocked the ball out of bounds and swiped the kids arm as he brought his down. That's a foul, not an intentional foul.

Worst refs I've ever witnessed in Freshman and JV games. Bad both ways and apparently don't even understand the rules of the game. Where to take the ball out of bounds in certain situations and what dictates an intentional foul, etc, etc.

I'm sure the Ryle playmaker you speak of is Ryan Smith? He's a 6'4" forward for Ryle.

No more like a wide receiver. He played cornerback I believe on Ryle football team. 6'4" with nice athletic build. dark hair. He sat out of bball the past 2 years focusing on football, but decided to return for his Senior year. Great kid.

What a game for Ryan Smith of Ryle. Just goes to show you that preseason player ratings don't mean a thing.

Any feedback on scrimmages this past weekend at Simon Kenton? Results?

Congrats Syd! I guess when Tim Tebow put that Florida ballcap on your head it sealed the deal! lol Go Gators!

Wow - Zeke going to college in Jan. is a huge blow to Dixie. They will have to shift players and re-group their team like most of the other 9th Region teams. Will make 9th Region a toss up again.

Really happy for Kam Schwartz and this Rebel win on the one year anniversary of Kameron's Fathers passing. An emotional day for his family. Way to go Kam!

Mikey Gabbard (Boone County) walked on at WKU last season, full ride to Erskine in South Carolina this season Trevan Brown (Boone County) - Miami, Oh. football

#51 is Jesse Bowling for Boone. He's had 2 huge games for Boone against Ryle and Highlands. He's played in the BC Pee Wee league for years and won lineman of the year a few times. Hard working kid with bright future. The scary thing about Moss (#44) is he just turned 13 this summer. He's a very young 8th grader and can impact a Freshman game in a big way. He's about 6'2" - 240 and very, very athletic. (Great basketball player also - big sis is Sydney Moss) #26 Aaron Floyd has tons of ability also and some athletic genes in his family. His Dad played on a national championship team at Eastern and a few years in the NFL. His coach must have gotten in his head a little. When he realizes his ability he will be something special.
