Sydney Moss to Sign This Friday

Featured Replies

Saw a note that Boone forward Sydney Moss will be making it official this Friday. She will be a Gator.

Someone on here will be burning up the highway from WVA to be there.

Congrats to Sydney and her supportive family.

We will be there! From what I understand the signing will take place at 2:30 at the Boone County Gym. Of course I'm hoping they will practice after the signing. That would make the trip even more interesting!

Congrats to Sydney and her family!! She will do very well at the next level. Awesome athelete. My husband thinks she can dunk and just doesn't know it yet. She can elevate. Glad she is not in the 8th region, lol!! If she stays healthy, she should be the next Miss Kentucky Basketball.

Congratulations to Sydney. Good luck this year and in your future with the Florida Gators.

Congrats Syd! I guess when Tim Tebow put that Florida ballcap on your head it sealed the deal! lol Go Gators!

LOL! Yeah, that was a good moment but I believe the deal was sealed long before that. She kept it to herself because she didn't want to break to her ole grandpa! But it had to be her own choice and she made it.

Good story about that hat. I don't think Tebow actually put it on her head but he did autograph it. When Syd got back home she ended up giving the hat to a family friend who is a huge Gators fan. She knew he would really appreciate it more than she so she gladly gave it up.

Nell was quoted as saying Purdue recruited Sydney as a point guard.

Nell was quoted as saying Purdue recruited Sydney as a point guard.

I think she could play the point if she played there routinely and really learned the position. She has such excellent court vision and gets the ball to the open person with great passing. In college she would have to learn the speed of the game because it's a definite step up from HS.

ESPN Hoopgurlz had this to say about her early this summer:

Battle in the Boro-July 11: Becoming the poster child for the "power guard" position. Constantly on the attack with and without the ball. Very focused in her efforts at both ends of the floor and has no problem putting the effort out there from tip to buzzer. Scores effectively in the halfcourt but makes herself a factor in transition as well. The ballhandling is coming along and she more than willing to use it create looks and passes. Defending aggressively on the ball and anticipating well from the weakside of the floor. Impressive rebounder from the perimeter. (Lewis)

"Power guard"......................interesting term.
