  1. looks like kids ejected from game were: Mathew Way, Mason Webster and Alex Matos all from Cov Cath and Ty Robinson from Conner. Does Way kid have brother or cousin that plays for Conner? Are the 3 kids from Cov Cath starters? What positions do they play?
  2. Boone with Thompson won the Regional Title just last year and made it to final 4 in state. Their Sr. and Jr. classes are just down in talent at Boone. Boone has some good talent in the Sophomore and Freshman classes.
  3. Even if SK was running the score up, don't punish the JV players who work just as hard as the varsity all week in practice. In general JV and Freshman teams always get done dirty with dropping games due to forecast, saving the field, blah blah blah. Just play the games these kids deserve! If it's muddy so be it. If it's raining without lightning so be it!
  4. One positive thing about Boone's team is it's young guys making big plays for Boone; Moss (14 yr. old Freshman) caught a TD pass, caused the fumble that Floyd (Sophomore) RB ran back for a TD, Moss blocked a field goal attempt by SK and showed his arm strength with a couple 50 yard passing attempts and his hitting strength - did anyone see Thad put the hit on #74 from SK, WOW - big time plays for a 14 year old boy; Floyd (Sophomore) - 2 TD's; Jerry Marshall (Sophomore) - RB had several nice runs; Diaw (Junior) strong RB that helped Boone get to 1 yd. line before Boone tried to run up the gut with our Sophomore QB and failed to get in. Jesse Bowling (Sophomore) starts on the line. Off year for Boone but hopefully the future improves with these young guys getting varsity experience.
  5. Most of the season yes, but was back and finally feeling 100% healthy this past week at practice. I guess that's football but such a shame on a dead play that this happened. Kid just can't catch a break.
  6. Turning point of the game was when SK player hit Jeremiah "Jet" Williams after he was pushed out of bounds and getting back up. Jet went out of game injured and never returned. Personal foul on SK. Kid should have been kicked out of the game. Jet was playing great at QB. Had thrown a TD pass to Thad Moss and was running the ball great. Such a shame. Jet was back 100% and now this on such a dirty play.
  7. Moss - Freshman - Marshall & Floyd are Sophomores - Boston and Diaw are Juniors; Young squad you're expecting a lot from
  8. What's AJ Collins sob story? He should be going to Boone. What was Ashley Cheeseman's sob story? She should have gone to WV? There are many many more students that people don't talk about. I could care less as long as the BOE approved their out of district transfer. All I know is the Moss kids are survivers of tough circumstances. They need to be where they can get support in school, sports, surrounding families etc. etc. and not being judged constantly. (The game when Ryle administration allowed students to heckle Sydney above and beyond normal cheering is the day Thad knew he could never attend Ryle HS.) There's a lot of personal issues that the kids don't want publicized and the BOE should never share. The BOE did what was in the best interest of the children for them to succeed in life and I applaud them. And it's especially no one's business on Bluegrass Preps to know these kids personal affairs. It has "NOTHING" to do with sports.
  9. If best all around athlete could have stayed on the field outcome could have been different and in Boone's favor; Jet Williams. He had 4 TD's last week for Boone against a better team.
  10. I can tell you how this happens, kids that live in Dixie's district go to Catholic schools like Cov Cath and/or transfer to schools like Beechwood or Highlands. The size of the school is not a good comparison anymore.
  11. Jeremiah "Jet" Williams has had 4 TD's for Boone so far.
  12. Just heard key contributers were, Aaron Floyd, Mustafa Diaw, Jet Williams and the Boston kid; but have no details.
  13. The Elite 11 camp showed Patrick's biggest weakest. Not being able to handle a snap. That's why he didn't have success at the Elite 11. His arm was as strong as any but he literally couldn't handle the snap with his footwork. I'm sure UK will help him figure that out.
  14. Zeke has done extremely well at Auburn up to this decision to have some drinks. He's been recognized many times by the football program for the highest test scores and grades from football players in various classes and was working on a fund raiser for the victims families of the Auburn football player deaths and gun awareness events. One of the players that were killed lived across the hall from Zeke this past semester and found out a family member has a serious illness in the past 2 weeks. The past 2 weeks have been emotionally tough leading into the drinks. Of course no excuse to do something stupid like drinking. He'll regroup with family and team support and bounce back at Auburn when 2 a days begin.
  15. Zeke is 18 and everything has worked out just beautifully for Zeke. God Bless your day!
  16. Absolutely. Pike was key for this team to succeed. They desperately needed a tough low post player. Also when you talk about this year by saying "it's about how deep we can go into the state tourney" you know the team is in trouble. Then your players attitudes reflect that statement. Take it in steps, Region 1st then state! Dixie lost 3 of their last 4 games to 9th Region teams. Congrats to Cooper. A true team win.
  17. Conner lost their leading scorer this past week to a knee injury.
