I'm not surprised that this thread didn't get any replies. IMO, the point guards work as hard as anyone on the court, yet get very little recognition because assists don't get the "press" that points get. But, it's the nature of the beast. Even in the NBA, Steve Nash is the only point guard that gets recognized for his ability to create assists.

Rianna Gayheart from Owen County. Leads her team in points and assists, makes her teammates better and is headed to NKU.

Tough to argue with that choice.
Owen County is south of Northern Kentucky
Geez! Tough crowd. I have a lakehouse in Owen County and I still consider it Northern Ky.

All c'mon. Its close enough.

Owen County is south of Northern Kentucky

Then give us some that are closer to the river!

Believe it or not, Northern Kentucky consists of some other counties not named Kenton, Campbell & Boone.

If someone asked you where Owen County was located, where would you say it is geographically? Western? Eastern? Southern? Central?

I'm with "Mean Green" on this one, if you need a tank of gas to get there and back it's not NKY.

In 2012 the best PG I have watched is Abby Owens (SK) followed by Chandler Clark (ND). Castleberry from Conner can be very good. You have to love the drive of the Walton point Guard, Ginn? NCC point is very athletic.

Not to threadjack, but it has been my experience that Owen, Gallatin, or Grant counties should NOT be included when discussing Northern KY counties since most folks in Boone, Kenton, and Campbell counties seem to have a hard time finding their way/navigating out of the "golden triangle" aka Boone, Kenton, and Campbell counties. I have had MANY discussions with Boone County residents thatare surprised to find out that Gallatin County borders Boone, here's your sign.:sssh:

Abby Owings is a very nice player, but more of a two guard forced to play point. Ginn does not run the point for WV, Clinkenbeard does.

He can't, because Gayheart is the best between Owenton and the river.

I have to defend my Boone County brethren here. If you're looking at a map, the "border" between Gallatin & Boone Counties is probably only 8 - 10 miles long.

And they obviously aren't paying attention when they're traveling 71 South. :D
