Who are the top freshman gaurds?

Welcome to the site anklebreaker13. How about Zach Pangallo from NewCath, not much varsity play yet, but has there really been a point guard with the last name of Pangallo at NewCath that was bad??????

I know the kid from holmes "Beattle" plays pretty go at the point. I also saw Anderson the kid from simon kenton, nice ball handler. And the boy from cov cath, Not sure of his name.

3 really stand out gaurds in my opinion. I am waiting to see the kids from Dixie play. My opinion is based on some of the teams i have saw play so far this year. i Havent saw Pangallo play yet. Lucky number 13!!!

You might be right. I would have put Kyle on my list if he was playing freshman ball, and i agree 120MPH!!!

Kyle Dougherty is Sean's son. I am not sure he knows how to play below 120mph. Great upside potential. The point gaurds for CCH are Cooper Theobald and Joe Schuh. Cooper handles the ball better but Joe is a better scorer. Both have to grow a few inches and put on some muscle if the want to contend with the bid dogs at the next level.

Noah Robinson from Simon Kenton...starts JV and plays varsity minutes...not playing Freshman. Great length and court vision...good passer and great kid.

The thread says top freshman players..... but the title says top freshman guards.

 

If we are including all Freshman in this thread, if there is a better Freshman in NKY than Drew McDonald from NCC I'd like to see him. I haven't seen a ton of HS games this year, however, I've caught a few of NCC games and he is legit. He has some great low post moves and isn't afraid to bang. I believe, going into the Newport game the other night (when he didn't play a lot because of the score) he was averaging around 19 - 20 points a game and grabbing his share of rebounds.

From a small school, Silver Grove has a freshmen who leadds the team in steals, rebounding, blocked shots, and assists. His name is Billy Miller and their 8th grade PG was just named to the All "A" tournament team!

Very nice player! Congrats to him for earning a spot on the all A team.

I agree here. Tough kid too.

 

However, the best freshman guard in NKY is Brenden Stanley IMO. Basically the 6th man for Boone County varsity. Other good guards include the aforementioned Pangallo and Dougherty, Schreck, Losey, Bolden and Liechty.

And, Lyons. Talk about playing 120mph. This kid has upside, but needs to be refined.
