Wake Me Up When September Ends - 2025 Edition
1A- I expect NewCath to get on a hot streak. Do not think they are a threat to make it to Thanksgiving though. 2A- Ditto on Danville... I love this redemption story. Stoney can Coach. I also want to remind everyone of this prediction from the 2025 Danville preview thread 3A-Not sold on the Juggs but not writing them off. Need to see them winning games beyond the length of the local FedEx route. When your best win is against essentially the 400th best team in OH then I just need a little more. Unfortunately I am not sure Bourbon County even answers that as well. Bourbon is also firmly in "wait and see" status. 4A- Something feels off with Boyle. Tilghman's loss was shocking but I do think they have all the pieces to win a title. On the flipside, I see a scenario where a 6-4 CovCath team facing literally the most impossible path in the playoffs could still win the Title. 4A is going to be a lot of fun. 5A- Woodford may end up being the poster child of how the RPI fails it's purpose. Those guys have travelled the country and gotten the short end of the stick from the KHSAA for trying to represent KY. Bowling Green may be keeping receipts of those who wrote them off when they were banged up. 6A- I actually would be pro-Ryle with close losses to CAL and Highlands and an impressive win over CCH... the Cooper loss is just the tough one to stomach because I am not convinced Cooper is anything special themselves. If we switched Cooper with a meaningless 42-7 win over say Henry Clay I think the Raiders are still a short list contender to go deep... that one result has soured their season.

2A RPI Rankings - 2025
Oh yeah... and even more than than that... Go Cathedral (IN) in a few weeks. Two out of state losses for CovCath would be RPI quicksand.

BluegrassPreps.com Class 2A Football Rankings 9/29
I think Murray would be right there with Somerset. I don't think there is a huge gap between OCath and Mayfield to Murray, but on most given nights I would expect Mayfield and OCath to beat them by 2 TD's... although Murray on the right night could 100% pull an upset. I posted this already but I do think there is hierarchy to 2A this with five really good teams at the top... then Somerset.. then a couple different tiers below. Somerset deserves respect. Now what I will say is of those Top 5 teams I kind of view all of them as having a unique signature Beechwood- Steady Eddie. The floor on Beechwood is very high... it is going to be very hard to find Beechwood having an "off" night or beating themselves. Their floor is probably Championship game worthy. They do everything well.. maybe not exceptional at anything.. but they do EVERYTHING well. I don't think this is the best Beechwood team by a longshot and they don't have those All-State 1st team locks... but if you want to beat them you are going to need to pack a lunch. To me that's what makes them the clear #1. OCath/LCA- The Asterisks. I actually think with OCath's and LCA's weapons and scheme they may have a higher ceiling than Beechwood when they bring their A game. Both can pick you apart in multiple facets and they have more potential explosive playmaking. I just think both teams also have a lower floor. I don't see a style that consistently will give Beechwood problems unless you simply have better players across the board like a CovCath. I think both OCath and LCA have certain styles or schemes they are both vulnerable against... but once again... when they are cooking watch out! Mayfield- Costco (Kirkland Brand) Beechwood. I am not saying these two teams are constructed the same, I am not. What I am saying is on the big picture what Mayfield prides itself on is a consistency and all around level of quality in all disciplines similar to Beechwood. I think Beechwood checks most of the boxes in a head to head but much like Kirkland Brand at Costco, sometimes there are going to be checkmarks on Mayfield's side that people prefer (IYKYK). What I do know is Mayfield will be in every single game and you have to bring a high level of execution. Belfry- The Gambit. As a Belfry fan I feel very comfortable saying that Belfry is a scary team. I think of all these team's Belfry's ceiling is the highest on any given night, but I equally think they are the most likely to get upset on any given night by a team they shouldn't. This statement may shock people who have not seen Belfry play, but Belfry IMHO is the single most athletic, explosive, and all-around fastest 2A team this year. Belfry also has dynamic players on defense who can make a big play at any time. The problem is this Belfry team is also one who has much bigger flaws and self inflicted mistakes than the rest of the Top 5. Belfry has an offense who may put 50 on you... but they may also turn it over four times. Belfry has a defense that may pick you off three times with incredible plays and sack you six times with an undersized Dlineman you simply cannot block... but they also may allow 50. Buckle up.. this should be fun.

Johnson Central at Corbin Predictions/Updates
Corbin will put their best foot forward. Johnson Central is just so darn good at the LOS. I will take JC 34-28.

2A RPI Rankings - 2025
I'll add I don't think Somerset is quite on the same level as the Top 5... but the Jumpers are a very good team and IMHO a massive step up from teams 7-10. In most 2A years this is easily a Top 5 type of Somerset team. I am not sure they are built to win multiple games against the Top 5, but Somerset is very much a team you need to watch out for to snakebite one of the best teams if they get caught looking ahead or not giving Somerset their undivided attention. I think Somerset is a team who can play within two scores of 2A's best on most nights. With a couple lucky breaks, a couple favorable bounces, and maybe the right play call they can make things interesting. The way I see it: Beechwood OCath/LCA/Mayfield/Belfry Somerset Danville/Pburg/Monroe/Breathitt/Caldwell County Martin County/Green County/WEB Dubois/Washington County/Bracken County/Hancock County The Rest

KSR Kentucky High School Football Rankings - 2025
If I had to predict.. I think the KSR rankings are either a one man or two man show. Seems like a lot of moving puzzle pieces around so if Team A beat Team B but Team B beat Team C that there aren't any real consequences. Rankings will never be perfect and will always have "gotchas" from unexpected results... but usually at least there should be a consistency to them. When Belfry jumps OCath for seemingly no reason or no explanation then consistency is probably deserving to be called into question. I like Cooper... but I don't like them "#10 in all of Kentucky" much. They have lost to three really good teams but two of those losses were blowouts and they have an impressive win over Ryle.. but not much else to write home beyond that.

Belfry vs. East Ridge Predictions/Updates (10/2)
I think the Belfry offense may have ran 10 total plays to score 42 points against Pike Central. I want to say they had four one play scoring drives. I expect them to run a a few more but not many more. Let's call it 42-7 Belfry. Get 'em in... get the running clock.. get 'em out... but most importantly avoid injury!

KSR Kentucky High School Football Rankings - 2025
Not sure why OCath is getting penalized after winning by 54 points? If anything I would think OCath should have stayed steady and maybe even should have moved up after Bowling Green nearly upset CAL.

2A RPI Rankings - 2025
Beechwood REALLY needs CovCath to beat especially Cathedral and also Highlands. As Beechwood's lone loss this is a RPI loophole that is bringing Beechwood down. CovCath may very well win the State Title but the CPU's don't like them right now and if they lose to Cathedral they really won't like CovCath. NewCath will start helping Beechwood a little. They should finally start adding some wins to finish the season. Even if Campbell County is a low rated 6A team those bonus points will help... Danville has proven that.

Boyle County vs. Saint Xavier Predictions/Updates
Who needs this one more? I will take X 24-14 in a very well played and well competed game.

3A RPI Rankings - 2025
With all due respect... Last year was surprising... but Central had a very good team. This year it would be almost unthinkable LOL Central is nowhere close to last year's team. If they can avoid a running clock I will be surprised. This is probably the weakest Central has been in a decade+ as they are just soooo young. Let's put it this way... if Central beats CAL this year Coach Dantzler can go ahead and step down as Head Coach because he will make a whole lot more and have a whole lot more free time being a consultant for other teams who want to learn what voodoo magic he has to beat CAL.

4A RPI Rankings - 2025
Most likely and it is going to be a gauntlet.. CovCath has a strong chance to be guaranteed to be the lowest seed starting Round 3. For whoever loses I could easily see: Round 1- Host a pretty tough Boyd County Round 2- at Johnson Central Round 3- at Boyle County Round 4- at Franklin County if they are now the top 1 seed remaining overall Round 5- Tilghman or whoever beat you in the District.

2A RPI Rankings - 2025
Win out in the regular season and OCath is sitting pretty as the overall 1 seed hosting until Finals. Potential path if I were to blindly prognosticate right now looks like: Rd 1 Host Ft. Campbell/Todd Central Rd 2 Host Caldwell County Rd 3: Host Somerset Rd 4: Host someone really good Beechwood, Mayfield, LCA, Belfry.. based on current seeds if Danville washes out... let's say LCA or Beechwood as a guess. Rd 5: Play someone really good Beechwood, Mayfield, LCA, Belfry.. let's say Belfry or Mayfield as a guess.

2025 RPI Rankings for all Classes - Unofficial
Something definitely changed. Belfry and Prestonsburg may be your best path to seeing where the discrepancy lies if you dig in. RPI definitely liked Belfry more than your original calculation and definitely liked Prestonsburg less.

2A RPI Rankings - 2025
- The good news for Beechwood and Belfry is unless one of them stubs their toe in a way not expected.. they should be able to avoid each other in Round 3. Lots of ground for Pburg or Breathitt to have to make up to catch them. - Belfry/Beechwood/Mayfield are going to come down to the wire to see who ends up at in that 2nd seed and a potential Semi-Final host. I love the Danville story but don't expect them to stick at #2 once they play LCA. -LCA higher than expected with three losses but it's going to be a tough putt to get to the 2nd seed in the West over a Mayfield... let alone a second overall seed. With the other top teams all expected to win out... LCA most likely is destined to be the road team noone wants to see. -Somerset has a gauntlet waiting for them. A likely 2nd Round game hosting vs. Danville, a likely trip to OCath, then if they somehow win that a likely trip to the 2nd overall seed. In other words, strong chance that as it currently sits Somerset may have to beat four of the top 6 teams potentially as the RPI currently shows to win a title. - On the flip side, Belfry currently sitting in prime real estate if they can hold their spot. If Danville falls out and Belfry can get the 2nd overall seed it looks like a path with Knott Central/Leslie Round 1, Martin County Round 2, hosting Breathitt County, then seeing anyone not named LCA or SOmerset have to load up the bus for a 4+ hour road trip to Pond Creek in the Semi's.

Covington Catholic at Highlands Predictions/Updates
I respect the Colonels... I like their fanbase and really like their representatives on here... But if my assumption about how the RPI is about to look between Belfry & Beechwood is accurate then I am sorry to say but I need CovCath to lose to Highlands and to Cathedral both.

Rockcastle County at Bell County Predictions/Updates
I expect a low scoring game. If this were in Rockcastle I would lean the Rockets' way... but being on Log Mountain I will take Bell County by a TD.
