I agree with Dixie. Holy Cross is only a shadow of what they were last year. There is competitive and there is state champion. These are two different things.

Final from the Sunshine Classic in Daytona Beach. Waton-Verona falls in the final to the Woodstock Lady Wolverines from Woodstock Ga. Walton down 6 is forced to foul and the Wolverines nail free throws late to seal the win. Congrats to the Bearcats on a GREAT trip. The get in some fun, beach and sun and go 2-1 in three days of basketball. Morgan Simpson and Allyson Poore were named to the all tournament team and Hailey Ison was awarded Most Outstanding Player. May the Bearcats and all the teams from Kentucky be blessed with safe travels! And more basketball in the new year!

I have no specifics on this game but I have watched Anderson play this year. One thing about them is they have some speed and many of them can handle. And they can shoot...especially Kaci Currens.

Congrats Lady Raiders. Way to represent Kentucky and the 8th region. I'm glad that Trimble and Walton were not in the same bracket. The trip between Bedford and Walton is good enough. Definitely no need to travel to Daytona to face up any more. Blessings to the Raiders in the final tomorrow!

Final from a semi final game in the Sunshine Classic in Daytona Beach. Walton-Verona defeats the Sharks of Atlantic High School in Daytona Beach FL. The game was played on the Sharks home floor, but the Bearcats manage to get out of the "sharky waters" with a win. Walton was lead by Hailey Ison with 30 points. Morgan Simpson added 14 and a bunch of rebounds. Sophomore Allyson Poore finished with 6. Walton-Verona will play the Woodstock Lady Wolverines (Woodstock, GA) in the finals tomorrow at 2:30pm.

Final from the Sunshine Classic in Daytona Beach, Florida. Walton-Verona's defensive effort helped them build a 34-10 halftime lead. They finish the game 49-20 behind Morgan Simpson's 15 points. Hailey Ison added 11 and Emma Rodgers 6. Walton-Verona will face Atlantic HS, (Daytona Beach, FL) tomorrow in the semi final.

I like Scott up a place or two sitting at 3 or 4 when they are healthy. And has Schultz from Brossart been out? If so, how long until she returns? With her in the line up, I would move Brossart up a spot or two also.
