2015-16 10th Region Girls Rankings - Christmas Edition

Featured Replies

1.Mason County (9-1):

Lady Royals had their unbeaten season come to an end in the Traditional Bank Classic at LexCath when they fell 57-48 to Butler. Mason County is still unbeaten in region play, bad thing is, they’ve only played 1 region game. Mason County heads to Louisville Central to participate in the Lady Yellowjacket Classic, they will open up with South Oldham.

2.Campbell County (8-1):

The Lady Camels have won 8 straight after starting the season off with a loss. 4 of those 8 wins have came against region opponents. Campbell County will head to Cincinnati OH next week to participate in the Braggin Rights Classic.

3.Bracken County (6-5):

Despite being 6-5 and winning just 2 of their 4 games at the Traditional Bank Classic at Lexington Catholic this past week, the Lady Bears have one of the top 5 players in the region in Bailey Cummins, who is averaging 19 points a game.

4.George Rogers Clark (4-2):

After starting the season off 4-0, the Lady Cardinals have dropped the last 2 games as they head into a post Christmas tournament at Mercer county, where they will meet Sacred Heart.

5.Scott (5-4):

Scott pushed their record to 5-2 before losing their previous two games to Webster County and Daviess County in the Owensboro Invitational. Scott will head to Mt. Sterling to participate in the Gateway Holiday Classic at Montgomery County, there, they will open up with Henry Clay.

6.Nicholas County (3-3):

After starting the season off 0-3, Coach Letcher and the Lady Bluejackets have rallied to win 3 straight to bring their record to .500. Next Week, won’t be easy for the Lady Jackets, as they head to Bourbon County to participate in the Mingua Beef Jerky Classic.

7.Montgomery County (3-5):

After starting the season off 0-3, Montgomery County has won 3 of their last 5 games as they head into their own Gateway Holiday Classic tournament next week as they open up with Jenkins.

8.Bishop Brossart (3-5):

The Lady Stangs’ are struggling bad, after starting the season 2-0, they have since only won 1 of their last 6 games. They aren’t scheduled to come back to action until the 2nd of January, where they meet #2 Campbell County.

9.Bourbon County (3-6):

Lady Colonels are struggling. They win a game then lose 3 straight before winning another game, once then lose 3 straight they rally to win game, before losing 3 straight more. Bourbon County took a thumping in the Johnson Central Holiday Tournament this past weekend, losing 2 of their 3 games and this coming week, it won’t be easy as they will host their own Mingua Beef Jerky Classic with some top notch teams (Lafayette, Powell County, St. Henry) just to name a few.

10.Harrison County (3-8):

Harrison County is struggling badly this season and are currently on a 3 game skid and next week won’t get any easier as they open up with East Carter in the Gateway Holiday Classic at Montgomery County.

11.Paris (3-4):

Paris continues to struggle this season. Their wins have came in sections of winning 1 of their 3 games. They travel to #11 Pendleton County next week for a 12:30 PM tip time against the Lady Wildcats.

12.Pendleton County (3-4):

The Lady Wildcats were able to put 2 wins together before losing a game. They will look to get back into the win column next week as they host #10 Paris.

13.Calvary Christian (3-5):

After a sluggish start to the season, the Calvary Christian Lady Cougars have won 3 of their last 5 games and seem to have things going in the right direction.

14.St. Patrick (5-6):

After a 3-2 start to the season, the Lady Saints have won just 2 of their last 4 games.

15.Robertson County (1-5):

Robertson County is still trying to find a way to get on the winning side of things for once.

16.Augusta (1-8):

It took a 7 game losing streak before Augusta finally seen the win column.

17.Silver Grove (0-4):

Lady Trains have not scored 21+ in a single game this season. Their highest scoring game was 20 points.

I would rank them this way:

1. Mason

2. Campbell

3. GRC

4. Scott

5. Bracken

6. Brossart

7. Mont Co

8. Nicholas

9. Bourbon

10. Harrison

11. Pend Co

12. Paris

13. Saint Patrick

14. Calvary

15. Robertson County

16. Augusta

17. Silver Grove

It doesn't get any easier for Scott at the next tournament opening up with Henry Clay and having to play SK among others and still missing their top player for several more weeks. Look for Scott to fall at least one to two more spots.

I hate to hear that. Hopefully she will get well soon.

I like Scott up a place or two sitting at 3 or 4 when they are healthy.

And has Schultz from Brossart been out? If so, how long until she returns? With her in the line up, I would move Brossart up a spot or two also.

GRC is a top 20 team so they should be #3, not Bracken.

So when you watched GRC play, what were some of their strengths and weaknesses?

I have not watched them, however I do know their coach quite well. Last weeks rankings had them at 18 or 19 I believe so why should the Lady Bears be given a higher region ranking than them?

The better question is there is nothing to date on Campbells or GRCs schedule to suggest either are a top 20 team. Maybe they end up there, maybe not. So first, ask, why are they where they're at, before disqualifying anyones region rankings.

By the way, knowing any teams coaches well doesn't have any bearing on where they are ranked.

Why the attack on GRC and CC?

Why the attack on GRC and CC?

Did you not read the prior posts I was referring to. Absolutely no attack what so ever. Was suggesting that the poster I was quoting, support his claim.

I'm in no way suggesting where anyone in the 10th should be ranked, other than Mason at 1.

CC has beaten the #14 team and is 8-1, so I'm not sure why Bracken would have any argument to take their spot.

Where does it say that Bracken should take their spot?

Has nothing to do with that?

Things are progressing well and hopefully will be much soonet then originally thought.

Let's just be honest, the only reason the Lady bears are ranked 3rd right now is they put up really good performances in their losses at Lex Cath this past week, and GRC is coming off 2 losses. I completely believe that GRC and a healthy Scott are both better and deserve a higher ranking than Bracken but right now the only thing 100% certain is the number 1 and 2 spots.
