  1. Jumper Dad...Got a nice display of STIHL hatchets and axes, like this one behind the counter at my work if you'd like to upgrade. :lol2:
  2. Maybe just maybe but.....highly doubtful. Common sense says that the dude doesn't decide to be Mr Model Citizen keeping one law while at the same time breaking a different law. If he is swinging an axe at people, I doubt he cares about a gun law. I'm with spindoc. More than likely this was a quick fix with whatever he could get his hands on at the time in order to get a quick fix.
  3. Customer with concealed carry permit fatally shoots ax-wielding attacker at 7-Eleven A customer at a 7-Eleven store outside Seattle shot and killed a masked man who attacked a clerk with an ax early Sunday. Investigators said the shooting happened at the store in White Center at approximately 5:45 a.m. local time. Witnesses said the man entered the store and swung a hatchet toward the customer before turning his attention to the clerk. As the assailant attacked, the customer pulled out a pistol and fired, hitting the suspect. The clerk suffered minor injuries to his stomach and the suspect was pronounced dead at the scene. The customer who shot the suspect is described as a 60-year-old Seattle man who visits the store every morning to get coffee. His name was not immediately released. Authorities said the man who shot the attacker had a concealed carry permit and likely would not face charges as a result of his action. "This could have been a lot worse,” King County Sheriff’s Sergeant Cindi West told KCPQ. “The clerk could be the one laying there dead on the floor right now.” The motive for the assault was not clear. Investigators said the ax-wielding man remained silent throughout the assault. The assailant's identity was not immediately revealed, and authorities described him only as a man in his 40s. Yes, I was being a little sarcastic in the thread title. Once again, banning guns or more gun control (or ax control) is a stupid, superficial solution. This is an example of what has been stated repeatedly by many folks, you can make guns unavailable or harder to get, but, someone with hatred or malicious intent might just grab an ax, or a bat, or a chain saw....
  4. Triple sevens middle little girl was in that. She got some pipes! And she did not get them from me.
  5. Murray is too good and too well coached to go down that easy. Great job getting back in it.
  6. T was for 6 players on the floor...I think. And LB, you need to show a little more effort on press row for the flying t shirts. You could of had that one.
  7. Congrats Campbell County on the win! And congrats to Trimble on a great season and 8th region run that will be talked about for years to come!
  8. Congratulations to this young lady! I have watched her play for several years and she has continued to improve tremendously. This is truly a great achievement that she has every reason to be proud of! Blessings to her as she looks forward to a new chapter in her life. If she works has hard as she has the last few years, I am certain she will be successful!
  9. There is another thing that I have to put out there that perhaps was not a physical factor in the game, but I know there is truth to it. The Trimble County players always, no matter what, win or lose, no matter how bad it hurts, choose to humble themselves before God after a game and give Him thanks in prayer. This is not a mechanical thing that causes win or losses, but it is a choice from the heart to just keep things in perspective after a game. That being said, I can't help but throw in here what I KNOW is truth. James 4:10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up. Yes, when a people choose to honor Him, and humble themselves before Him, He is faithful to honor them back at various times and raise them up. Perhaps our nation should take note. Win or lose the next game, it doesn't matter at all. The Trimble ladies have already proven that their choice to honor God does not depend on winning.
  10. IMO, SK's Shelby Harmeyer kept Simon in the game. She had some very timely and big threes when her team needed them. And some of them seemed to try to shift momentum, although Trimble would prove to remain poised. Trimble's Shelbe Black had some big time three's of her own. And yes it is something to see a big go out there and stroke it. She played a dandy of a ball game. This was the first time I had seen SK be "outbigged" if that is a word. I knew Trimble size would give them some trouble, but I honestly thought that SK would turn it into a track meet sooner in the game rather than later, using their bench depth as an advantage. SK will definitely be back. They are very good, but they were also very young. Like other teams in the past that learned from a heartbreaking loss, it will only mature them for the days ahead.
  11. "You're never as good as everyone tells you when you win, and your never as bad as they say when you lose." Lou Holtz
  12. What a game. Very glad I went to see that one. First of all congratulations to the Trimble County Lady Raiders! They played a dandy of a ball game back to back nights. They earned it. And wow, what a show of support from Trimble County. Bedford was a ghost town for sure. Trimble's size and length is for real folks. Anyone that thinks that Simon just happened to have a bad night is naive. Trimble's length causes problems. It is tough to shoot over and you don't get many offensive rebounds when you miss. And Niece did not necessarily pick a time to have an off night either. I will defend her. It is not easy getting buckets in the paint with four 6' players crowding around you. It gets in your head. Niece is a very quality ball player, but there is a reason she struggled with what usually looks easy. I guess I am saying that Trimble came to play, and they are a well coached, very good basketball team. They proved it and earned it. They did not just get lucky or happen to find SK on a bad night. I think it is wise to give credit where it is due. Congrats to SK on a very good season.
  13. You are100% correct. My apologies to Jared. I even went and double checked to make sure I didn't forget one and I still did. Stupid me, listed Chance twice. Thank you Jared for your hard work. Blessings on you all!
  14. Congrats to Anderson County. They played hard and with the way they hit the 3, they were going to be tough to beat. But jumping in on what sportmaniac brought up, I'd like to give a huge shout out to the Walton Verona players and especially their Seniors. Their career could be summarized many ways. On of the more valuable ways is to describe them as the kids that didn't quit or run away when things got very hard. They just kept working. For three years. The result? They turned their ship around. And in doing so, they leave their example of passion, hard work, selflessness and refusing to quit on the program. They may not have ever enjoyed the accolades of winning a regional tournament, but the seeds they have sown into the program can be very much appreciated by the Walton Verona community. They are good seeds that will continue to sprout into success as future Bearcats follow their example. Great work young men. Thank you Matt, Kyle, Elliott, Chance, Austin and Chance.
  15. Ugh. Stomach bugs on gameday are never good. But good for him on the work ethic and good attitude to improve weaknesses! It will pay off. At his size, if he can improve those things further, he can be dominant.
  16. Kelch. SK's big is Zac Kelch. Nice player, but yes I agree, to improve his game beyond his current, he needs to work really hard on foot speed/explosiveness. As only a soph, he has opportunity.
