Mr Guru, I think you know the answer to that question. Anything can happen. A wet, muddy, cold field, it evens the field. Mayfield needs and will take things one game at a time. I dont think Mayfield underestimates Beechwood or LCA , Holy Cross, Hazard and Critt. CO. Is Mayfield the favorite? Probably.
Beechwood will be back. Mayfield went through it a few years ago and I'm sure it will happen again at some point. Hard for the small schools to compete against the bigger ones with all their depth .
I think Mayfield is better than they were last season but I'm not sure PT is as good. Mayfield has shown they are very efficient on both offense and defense. My prediction is.
Mayfield 35
PT 7
Mayfield looks very dominate on defense. The offense doesnt look to bad either, scoring every time they have had the ball in both games, in the 1st half. If this team gets any better it will be down right scary.
Not as much as speed as last year but Mayfield is not slow. Plenty of weapons to strike from anywhere and a experienced offensive line. The defense looked very tough with Jackson all over the field. I think it will be hard to run on the Cards this year. Marshall has a ways to go but I saw a glimmer of hope in the second half and they played hard the whole game.
Long way to go till the friday after Thanksgiving . Injuries , weather, teams overlooking teams. If Mayfield is fortunate enough to get to the semi-final game this game could go down to the wire. Mayfield is somewhat similiar in talent this year as in last years team . Not as much speed but smart and they will have more power in the backfield. They should be very good on defense. Mayfield has a 9th grader that I was impressed with, his name is Mills. I guess the question is has Beechwood closed the gap from last year? One final note, 00 Rocket, Critt. Co has Mayfields attention.
