Boy, some Beechwood fan with nothing to do musta really thought hard about a thread like this. It might be the only thing Beechwood beats Mayfield at. As long as they dont play each other..... Just kidding.

It feels good for this team. It was a hard working team on a mission. The staff did an excellent job with this bunch. It might be a while before we get the right mix like this again.

Mayfield owns a 2-1 record against NCC . You got a thing about Mayfield. Listen buddy you were talking hypothetically and hypothethetically Beechwood knocked NCC out of the playoffs. Funny Beechwood stopped that great NCC rushing attack at least enough to hypothethically knock them out of the playoffs and your hypotheical mind. lol

I'm bringing this thread back in honor of my good buddy quickslick who had the foresight to declare the crown ours way back in september. Now i dont know if we are the best in the history of 1A ball as quickslick liked to say in his sacaristic way but we can at least claim 2010.

Congrats NCC, you were the best for sure in 2A.

Since its hypothetical We will just say that Beechwood and NCC were all in the same class and hypothetically speaking Beechwood's and NCC game that was just a few weeks ago was a playoff game and since Beechwood beat them , Mayfield and NCC would have never played. You know why? Because hypothetically Beechwood is better than NCC since they Actually played on the field not Hypothetically and since Beechwood and Mayfield actually played each other and Mayfield won I guess Mayfield is actually and Hypothetically better than both this season. Of course I'm hypothetically speaking.

Crunch, what makes you think Mayfield can't win a title in 11 or 12? Is it because you think Beechwood has those wrapped up? I recall getting on BGP's after the 08 season and the Beechwood faithfull proclaiming that the incomming team was a special bunch and that they were the team to beat in the forcomming season and seasons. I think the jury is very much out on Beechwood and state titles. Not saying it won't happen, just that Beechwood is in a little lull. If Mayfields line and QB come together sometime next year they will be right in the thick of it and I guarrantee they will be be one or the solid favorite for 12.

For what its worth. I saw where Mayfield was rated 10th in the state by the Massey ratings.

Lets just say they would be competetive with most schools in the state but a handfull. Thats about all you can ask.

Voice, thats exactly how it is at Mayfield. Players dont stick it for a variety of reasons and sometimes you have the talent but not the right mix (Mayfield 07 &08). Beechwood was probably missing just a couple of players from having a title contender. Mayfield is like that sometimes, we had a player that left in 8th grade that went down to Nashville who would have the 2nd best player on last years team. Beechwood will be ok, but you're not going to win it every time, you just want your share , just like Mayfield does.

Jason, you have a fixation on the 95 game. Yeah, Mayfield is 4-0 against Beechwood and what we needed to get 2 more titles was to play them more in title games.

Voice, I dont know if this was Jackson's best game. It seemed to me very standard. I will tell you he is very good. Very Very solid. He will have to get taller in the next few years to move on to big time college football. He has a nose for the ball and he is a good student and a leader. As a runner he is a step slow but runs with decent power. He has had a tendency to fumble just a little bit. He is a sophomore and to me I wouldn't trade him for any sophomore in KY.

Jackson is just a decent runner, its his defense. #19 for us is also just a sophomore, Labront Scott. So is our other linebacker #6 . Guhy's brother is just a freshman, he will be the QB next year , he will be good. He just needs a little seasoning. Beechwood will probably start out as the #1 team next year but I dont think it will be a given that you will beat Mayfield next year or even 2012. We have plenty of players comming up. The little league this year was shock full of talent. Mikey Brights son was a 6th grader and he is going to be a beast. I like our future, I know we aren't going to win every one but we should get our share. As for last year, If I could take 1 player off that team it would be Murrell, not Shelton. Murrell gave us speed and quickness from the backfield. Overall this team is better in my opinion because they are more diverse and the defense is better and Guhy makes better decisions with the ball.
