  1. Yes, it would have ended in the semi's the last 2 years but thats to me like saying If Mayfield Would have been in 1A in the 80's or early 90's then Beechwood probably would have 11 titles.
  2. When was the last time a 1A team beat Beechwood like this and especially this deep in the playoffs? And, how do we compare to some of the NKY teams?
  3. 6A STX 5A Highlands 4A Lone Oak 3A Paducah Tilghman 2A Fort Campbell 1A Mayfield 48
  4. LO has a great offense, if Boyle can't slow them down and gets in a shootout I will not be surprised if LO doesn't win.
  5. This end of the state generally gets no love from the media or the messages boards. I feel like it is some what of a redemption that we showed that very good football is played down here. THe lit ratings have FC at about 15th best in the state and Mayfield gets no love while they have teams with 3 and 4 loss's in the the top 10. LO has played great ball all year and I wouldnt be surprised if their defense can hold up if they dont beat Boyle CO. PT has some talent on their team and now they are finally gelling. Good job and good luck WKY teams.
  6. If Mayfield plays their game, I like our odds. Plus this game will be played on turf and I think we will be even faster.
  7. Mayfield wasn't going to win state the last two years but they had the talent to at least go to semi state.
  8. I was a little shocked by the lack of size in Beechwoods line. As some have said here Mayfield controlled the line of scrimmage. Beechwood hardly threatened to score. Most here said Beechwood was fast and they are definately not slow, Mayfield's speed and line play took controll of this game. I met some nice people from Beechwood and Beechwood is a very well coached team. They never quit to the final whistle and they are a hard hitting team. I am sure there are going to be more matchups in the near future.
  9. I'm talkin far WKY not Hoptown or Bowling Green. I'm talkin Marshall Co. , Paducah, The far reaches of WKY. I dont think any of these schools in this area have ever played in a home game or visited a NKY team at one or the others home field.
  10. Has a NKY team ever ventured this far down into WKY ? I cant ever remember it nor can I remember a far WKY team making it up into the NKY area.
  11. What about the Tennessee team Mayfield beat? Trousadale County, the defending 2A state champ and its only loss this season is to Mayfield.
  12. Beechwood playing on grass might slow them down just a tad. I see where they play mostly on turf. The film I saw they looked quick and not overly large. They didnt seem quite as fast as us at least to my eye. I am cautiously optomistic about our chances at this point.
  13. Drum roll please, my 1000th post right here for Mayfield and Beechwood, what an honor, lol
