Mr Ram, it wasn't our first rodeo. LCA was good, they won their title. The fans of Mayfield agree that LCA was the class of 1A. We played great teams this year. We beat 2 state champions from 2 states. As I have said, Mayfield was their own worst enemy in the game. LCA took advantage of most of the mistakes and the few that LCA made such as the 1st interception that Mayfield took to the 15 yd line and then gave it right back. The first score that LCA got on the interception thrown into a pack of LCA players and returned to the 5 yd line. Looking at it from my red colored glass's I see a few things that might have helped our cause to have made it a more competive game. All in all , I give LCA its due and say again congrats on being the 1A champ.

Who said anything about sour grapes or classless? I said I didnt like it. I was there , I thought there was sportsmanship the whole game. I thought LCA was the better team but I also thought we were our own worst enemy several times and put LCA in great postion several times. When we scored to start the second half to make the game 28-13 and then did an onside kick which gave LCA great field postion I thought we were getting desperate much too soon. All in all LCA made the plays and we didnt. I still didnt like the last score.

I left early. i know the games over. I gave LCA its due but I hear they are throwing for the endzone with a 29 point lead and a minute left. That I dont like.

Congrats LCA, I said it would take a heck of a 1A team to beat Mayfield and LCA is. As for the game, Mayfield had tons of turnovers which lead to LCA's 1st score. We did not take advantage of the turnovers LCA gave us at the start of the game. LCA's line was awesome they gave Whitt lots of time to throw the ball and Hayden to run. Hayden is a load but the line blocks super for him. Hayden is not blessed with great speed but runs hard, the QB is what makes that team go. Congrats again to LCA

What happened in the LCA game against the Nashville team that they only beat by a point? They had a losing record.

What kinda of game would last years Beechwood team be against this years Mayfield?

3 wish's sounds like some of the Beechwood bunch before we played them. LCA may be good but hardly unbeatable.

If I go to the PT/Somerset game at 11 sat.morning will I have to leave and purchase a ticket for the Mayfield/LCA game? Imho it should be a all day ticket.

I have no doubt Beechwood will do what it takes to get better. I like playing teams like Beechwood and Danville because they have their bars set high like ours and have the resourses to make it happen. Beechwoods district may have fine but no different than Mayfield's or perhaps not as strong. Critt was right there with you and better than Bellevue. The thing that gets me is how so many of you put down Mayfield's schedule when it was in reality a fine schedule. We played 1 Tenn.team that was #1 and Paducah which is playing for a state title, scrimmage Milan Tenn.who was in 3A semi's. When the few pollesters from Mayfield get on here and say they have a squad that could win a title ,I would take them serious. Last year I don't think anyone said we could do it. We get drowned out here. Next year we will again be a serious contender. We aint goin away for a few more years.

Mr Voice, By the same token maybe Beechwood was overrated all season? They played in a weak district and the big teams they played hammered them. To much stock was put in what Beechwood did last year. As I told many here, Beechwood was the defending state champ but it was not the same team. The same will be said for Mayfield, as Mayfield was not the same team as it was last year or will it be the same team next year.

I told one Beechwood fan at the game about our schedule and that we beat the #1 team in 2A from Tenn. He told me that's just 2A like it wasn't good enough and that their schedule was superior. While Beechwood played a very tough schedule they were hammered in all their loss's except NCC. We got very little respect from the pollsters here and the few fans I met seemed to think before the game that they would beat us because they had more or as much speed as us and this fan said their line was really strong. At the half I heard a different song. As I have said Beechwood was very well coached and all the fans very nice.

I have said many times in this forum, ''it's going to take a heck of a 1A team to knock Mayfield out" . No team has emerged yet and I believe LCA is good and if we dont play a good game that it could happen but I just dont think LCA can handle all the weapons we have.

If its a nice day in BG, I'll be surprised if we dont get at least 35.

Since a few of you wanna talk about next year, I'll say this. I expect Mayfield to beat Beechwood again. Why? Because we will have 80% of our team back and people like Johnathon Jackson will be a year older. He is going to be a load. You think Murrell 's good, he is going to be awesome. The line is back, Guhy is back, the kicker is back. Every player on defense but 3.
