  1. I'm telling you what I heard. I thought it pretty ridiculous but my pal told me that was his full time job. Who would have thought this would be someone's full time job?
  2. A lot. I'm not sure if it's Rolfs or another guy. I was told this one guy does hoops, baseball and maybe softball. 6 figures. It may include assigning AAU games.
  3. Beechwood is the Graceland of Ft Mitchell and Rash is Elvis. Anymore questions?
  4. Great job he did considering volleyball is number one and St Henry is a small school, law of numbers.
  5. 3 games, one starter has won two games they won, not enough data. Do they have enough pitching and hitting. Scored a lot of runs vs St X but only 5 hits all singles, I think. Any power?
  6. He's a good man. Had a really young team. Some decent players coming back.
  7. For whom? Them or their kids? Basketball is only part of it. If it truly is the kids decision, I'm all for it.
  8. Noted. I realize there may be other issues, like other schools may play stronger schedules, or the kid may be able to play their natural position rather than be the 6'3 power forward. The fact is that most parents are making their decision on the sport, academics are now a by-product. If the kid is good enough, they are being recognized on the AAU circuit, not the high school team.
  9. So let me get this straight. Coach is gone because parents may or may not be lunatics with unrealistic expectations after little Johnny dominated the Possum Creek crew, C Division of 3rd grade AAU. Now the three amigos may transfer because the parents may or may not have liked in no particular order, the coach, the administration or the other parents with unrealistic expectations. So, they are willing to dole out 10k+ in tuition, drive their kids a half hour each way to school, all so Ronny, Bobby, Ricky and Mike can better themselves on The Hill and extend their playing careers where? TMC, Mt St Joe?
  10. Whatever happened to the Farris kid?
  11. Didn't make it to the game either, but seeing the stats, shutout, BGP'ers tell me she pitched a great game.
  12. It's a matter of style. Small ball only gets you so far. It does not prepare you for hitting against the best teams ace when you really need a hit. Baseball only takes one pitcher to knock anyone out.
  13. Demographics will make it tough to compete. BC has become an inner city school. You have got to take charge of those boys as freshman or they will get lost.
  14. Ruthsatz is not X material. Nice player but Bolden is the man.
  15. Coach L came flyyying down like a madman. Had no business being there and deservedly got T'd up.Coach R was complaining about a TO they tried to call. He was satisfied with refs response then asked a question or questioned or pointed out something Holmes was doing which I think sparked Coach L. Coach R was on the CC baseline while Coach L was on his bench, so no way Coach L could hear what was being said. The gestures Coach R made were minimal. So, as stated, Coach L lost it. He had no business being there in the middle of it. He is not the head coach.
  16. There was no drama. Ruthsatz was having a chat with ref and Listerman comes flying down, flailing about. He lost his composure. It appears he has some separation issues.
  17. Sweeper, you are off base. The intentional foul was intentional but it was not a hard foul. He wrapped his arms around him to prevent him from getting away. The technical foul was questionable. It was hard. The guy kept going to the hoop. Tobler can't be sure if they are calling it in the act of shooting, continuation, so he fouls to prevent a basket and possible 3 point play. CC was not trying to get under Holmes skin.
  18. Odd game. From huge lead early for CC to Listerman T, to double fouls but count the basket and foul out Englemon. Ripley's.
  19. I said nothing is wrong with DIII ball. It's the unrealistic expectation of a college basketball scholarship by the parents that cause them to complain bitterly about coaching and drive good coaches away.
  20. It starts with the parents. I can guess it starts with scholarship expectations for their 3rd grade AAU superstar they have on their hands. I got news for them. Check out how many 6'2 white kids are playing D-1 ball, who can't jump over the Sunday paper. Very few. For all their grade school success, they won't play higher than D III at TMC. Nothing wrong with that. But, when mom and dad realize that by Johnny's sophomore year that Coach is not fulfilling their dream for Johnny, it gets ugly. You're freaking Walton, KY! You don't grow D I players! Live with it.
