What three areas would you address if you were advising the new Boone football coach?

For example:

1. Develop QBs in every class.

2. Institute a Two Platoon system.

3. Hold all the players accountable physically/mentally/personally.

1) Engage the parents and get them structured as a booster organization.

2) Engage businesses and perhaps some famous alumni on fundraising. Stress the need for facilities upgrade.

3) Engage BCPWFL. Be visible to kids in the youth leagues. Host their practices.

4) Stress the benefit of football as an extended family to kids in school.

Move the youth league away from the draft and more focused on being feeder teams for the school.

Don't go away from what Boone is good at (developing work horse backs), but don't be afraid to stick w/ the pass if it doesn't pan out right away. Get closer to 60/40 run/pass.

I like your number 3. I have no idea how Thompson ran the program, but that is just a given for any successful program.

That was done a few years ago.The BCPWFL is set up where Boone has three 7th and 8th grade teams that feed into their school and Conner has three team that feed into their school.

1. Be aware the administration my not be as supportive as advertisied.

2. With the resignation of 4 staff members, work hard to contact those coaches to get them back on board. BCHS coaching staff have held those kids together for a long time. The kids are hurting and need those role models back.

3. Be the best role model for the entire team. There are more sad stories of home lifes and just bad situation with some of the young men. They need strong men in there lives to help them grow.

1. Do you need anything?

2. How can I give the program my money?

3. Is there anything I can take off your plate and accomplish so you don't have to?

I did not know that.

1. Let him coach!

2. Let him coach!

3. Let him coach!

He has won championships and coached D! That wins Championships. If Boone Co. parents or admin have problems then they should of hired another Teacher.

Parents want to get involved with fundraising, cooks, etc. FINE!

If indeed he is bringing his Offensive Coordinator from Bowling Green they will then need to sit down and figure out the difference between Boone Co. high school speed and Bowling Green high school speed. Yes, there is a difference! That will be the deciding factor on how well that Offensive scheme will work if they are going to use the same Offense as Bowling Green. People will disagree with me but that will be the biggest adjustment these guys will face coming into a new program. Speed-Speed-Speed!

That is an issue for another thread but there is plenty of speed/skill at Boone.

And Rambo, I agree at the end of the day everyone needs to let the man coach his way but for purposes of this thread we are all offering something up to him to help him coach.

Who are the four coaches that resigned?

Okay....fair enough! Who else in NKY besides maybe Holmes could match up with Bowling Green's team speed on a yearly basis?

Chase Floyd was one.

No. Chase was let go by Coach Thompson before Coach Thompson was let go by Boone.

Niederman and Turner resigned. I think Steele resigned and maybe one other. Coaches Brown and Westhoff hope to stay on the staff and are running the weight program. And I may not have all the spellings right but you get the idea.

Yet another question for another thread. We all know Highlands is quick and could probably match up. But again, another thread.
