  1. Highlands is young and I think they will get better as the season goes on. They may be a year away from competing with the top teams again. It was 25-19 at half before Holy Cross opened it up in the 3rd quarter outscoring the Birds 25-4. Julia and Marissa both played well and both had several block shots.
  2. Final From Ft. Thomas. Holy Cross improves to 4-1 on the season and will play their first home game of the season tomorrow night at the Finn Activity Center vs Campbell County at 7:30 pm.
  3. Big win for the Camels. Thought this would be much closer.
  4. Prayers for improved health B-Ball-fan. I hope you can catch a Holy Cross game on radio to keep you informed when we are playing.
  5. Final from Great Crossing and the Billy Hicks Classic. Holy Cross improves to 3-0 on the season with a win over a "rebuilding" John Hardin team. They were led by Jacob Meyer with 29 points. Jacob Smith had 17 points and Javier Ward had 16 points and 6 assists. Senior Center Sam Gibson added 7 points, 20 rebounds and 7 block shots. The Indians advance to take on the home team Great Crossing on Friday night at 7:30 pm. Holy Cross Radio will be there to cover the game.
  6. A week into the season and you've already seen most of the contenders. I'm impressed. I think we can all agree that CCH is always the team to beat every year that's not breaking any news. So I guess let's give Cov Cath the region in December. 🙂
  7. Final from Lex Catholic. Holy Cross improves to 3-0 (all on the road). They will play 2 more road games Tuesday at Dixie and Thursday at Highlands before finally having a home game on Saturday vs Campbell County.
  8. Final from Latonia. Holy Cross improves to 2-0 with a 91-62 win. They led from start to finish led by Senior guard Jacob Meyer with 35 points (29 in first half), 14 rebs and 7 assists. Javier Ward had 22 points and Jacob Smith added 15. Ryle was led by Logan Verax who had 18 points. The Indians hit 14/25 from 3 and had 21 assists as a team. Holy Cross will next play next Wednesday when they travel to take on John Hardin in the Billy Hicks Classic. Ryle 21 16 7 18 - 62 HC 32 23 19 17 - 91 Ryle (0-2) - Verax 18, Smith 12, Deatherage 8, D Davis 6, AJ Davis 5, Lorms 4, McKelvey 3, Coppola 2, DeGroff 2, Louden2. Holy Cross (2-0) - Meyer 35, Ward 22, Smith 15, Reinersman 8, Gibson 6, Arlinghaus 3, White 2.
  9. Coach Arlinghaus has a very deep team this year. He can and probably will go 9-10-11 deep during most regular season games. When he plays the tougher teams maybe only go 7-8 deep. Once this team can develop into their roles and come together they will be a handful in my opinion.
  10. Final from the Finn Activity Center Atherton 14 16 14 14 - 58 Holy Cross 22 15 20 23 - 80 Holy Cross was led by Seniors Jacob Meyer with 33 points (11 rebs) and Javier Ward with 28 points. Senior Sam Gibson added a double-double with 15 points and 13 rebounds. Atherton was led by Junior Braylin Taylor with 16 points. * The Indians will welcome in the Ryle Raiders to the Finn Center this Friday, December 2nd.
  11. Also heard it was a huge crowd at the Fenn Center for this one for a scrimmage game.
  12. I couldn't attend due to the flu but heard it was a pretty solid game between two of the top teams in the 9th. I'm pretty sure the Pouncy kid played for Cooper. I don't have any stats for the game. Anyone who was in attendance know?

  15. B-Ball fan - great job with the breakdown. I think the 9th region is more open this year than it's been in several years. Cov Cath will always be good. Lloyd is rising. Cooper will be right there in the mix especially if the one kid is ruled eligible. I think Highlands could drop back a "little" bit but Herald is a stud. I will say that Conner at #2 and Holy Cross at #6 shocked me. If there are 5 better teams than HC this year in the 9th I'll comeback in February and say how wrong I was. Good luck to all the teams it should be a great year to watch and follow.
  16. We can certainly revisit this in February but if there are 5 better teams than Holy Cross girls this year in the 9th region I'll come back on here and say how wrong I was. I can make an argument with what they have coming back, along with the additions that they could be #2 or more likely #3 behind Cooper and probably Ryle. I'll take them over Conner, ND and Dixie heading into the season. Can't wait for the start of the season...
  17. I don't have the bracket but know on the boys side, Holy Cross drew opposite of Beechwood, St. Henry, NCC and Newport. I've looked for the bracket on the AllAClassic.org website but they don't have anything posted for this upcoming year.

  19. Don’t think anyone that has followed them this year would disagree with you. Meyer is a unique talent that this area hasn’t seen in quite a long time.
  20. That isn’t my point. You said if they didn’t have either they would win 8/9 games. I agree with that and also saying if we take top 2 scorers from every team off those teams they win maybe 8/9 as well. Nothing more not trying to start anything. Maybe I’m wrong…
  21. For sure but to be fair take the top 2 scorers and (56 pts in this case) off any team and they wouldn’t win many games. I get what you are saying but that’s a comparison you can make with 95% of all teams.
  22. Courtesy of the Statman Holy Cross 26 14 21 19 - 80 Conner 10 18 23 23 - 74 HC (21-9) - Meyer 41, Ward 27, Z. Arlinghaus 4, Hoffman 3, Gibson 3, Lehmkuhl 2. 23. Conner played great in 2nd half. Give Holy Cross credit too. They built a big lead. Saw it fade away then took back over last 2-3 minutes. Ended on a 13-7 run after it was tied 67-67.
