  2. Final from Latonia Junior guard Grace Bezold led all scorers with 22. Senior Jade Simpson added 16. Freshman Whitney Lind led the Jaguars with 16.
  3. From my view on radio I thought the refs did a pretty good job all night of being "consistent" in letting the touch fouls go and letting the kids play with contact. (This did NOT play into the hands of Holy Cross however, but I thought they were consistent). There was only 1 really bad non call that was end of first overtime when there was an obvious blown call in the back court about 70 ft from the basket with :02 sec left and the game tied. The Holmes player had hard contact on Jeremiah Hicks but they decided to swallow the whistle since there was only 2 seconds left. If that same play happened in the first quarter they make that call but I get it. Typical Holmes/Holy Cross match up. Both teams played hard and it was back and forth especially in the 2nd half with numerous lead changes. Holy Cross had their chances but had a few untimely turnovers that really cost them late in both overtimes. Now the game at Beechwood on Feb 15th is big. If Holy Cross can pull off the upset it would setup a 3-way tie with BW/HC/Holmes. This is all based on the idea that Cov Cath beats Beechwood this Friday night in Park Hills. Holmes 14 19 16 11 3 5 - 68 Holy Cross 15 17 17 11 3 3 - 66 * Unofficial from HC Radio Holmes (10-12) - Q. Calloway 22, Foster 21, Elmer 17, Mullins 6, Abdullah 2 Holy Cross (10-9) - Meyer 20, McClendon 18, Niehaus 11, Hicks 9, Haney 6, Dreas 2
  4. Final from "The Hill". Nice win for the Indians after the Breds beat them in the All "A" Classic a few weeks ago. NCC had won 12 of 13 games and were on a roll.
  5. Joel Iles did not play against St. St. Henry in the All "A" and it was the first game back for Ross Pangallo that night.
  6. If you can't make it down to Latonia for the game in person, you can listen live on Holy Cross Radio starting at 7:15 pm. Widget
  7. Both teams like to get up and down the floor and turn defense into offense. These are 2 of the highest scoring teams in the 9th I look for the game to be in the 70's if not 80's.
  8. The Holy Cross Indians (10-8) will welcome in the Holmes Bulldogs (9-12) to the Finn Activity Center on Tuesday night for a triple header. The Indians are coming off a road win at Lloyd 64-62. The Bulldogs are coming off a road win as well 79-58 over Campbell Co. Who wins this 35th district seed game and why? Current 35th District Records Cov Cath 2-0 Beechwood 1-0 Holy Cross 0-1 Holmes 0-2
  9. Great road win for Holy Cross. From my seat last night which was center court 5 rows up, I did not ANY indication that Cody wasn't "allowed" to shoot the ball. Could he have taken more shots, maybe, but in no way from my eyes was he not allowed to shoot. I thought he played a nice game and passed the ball when double teamed like most star players should do. Again a nice road win for Holy Cross with a huge 35th district seed game on Tuesday vs Holmes in Latonia.
  10. Great road win for the Indians against a very good Lloyd team. Give Holy Cross credit after the 19 pt loss on Tuesday at Conner. Nice bounce back team win. Big district seed game n Tuesday night against Holmes in Latonia.
  11. Great game in Erlanger tonight. Both teams played really hard. In defeat I was still impressed with Lloyd. Cody is a handful and played very unselfish. Meyer led the way for the Indians with 24 points. With the win Holy Cross improves to 10-8. With the loss Lloyd drops to 11-8. Holy Cross 14 21 14 15 - 64 Lloyd 19 16 14 13 - 62 Unofficial scoring from Holy Cross Radio. Holy Cross - Meyer 24, McClendon 15, Hicks 14, Haney 4, Dreas 3, Niehaus 2, Gabbard 2. Lloyd - Cody 16, Davis 12, Anthony 11, Monroe 9, Mitchell 7, Vogelpohl 4, Israel 3.
  12. I did the Holy Cross/Conner game on radio last night and Holy Cross was whistled for only 4 fouls the entire game, Conner only had 8. The game went by pretty fast I will say that.
  13. I was told NCC was 14/29 from the FT line. Anyone have the what Highlands did? Vinson shoot 20+ FTs ?
  14. Pretty good game for about 3 quarters last night in Hebron. Holy Cross led by 6 after the first quarter and by 10 early in the 2nd quarter. Turnovers and bad shot selection would hurt the Indians from there as Conner slowly took over the game. Conner is a very good team and playing well right now. They got 26 bench points (22 from Saffell) while the Indians only got 2. I think HC needs to play their bench guys a little more. Starters are playing way too many minutes in my opinion. Conner wins their 8th game in a row. Unofficial stats from HC Radio. HC 21 13 13 15 - 62 C 15 25 13 28 - 81 Holy Cross - McClendon 20, Niehaus 17 , Meyer 11, Hicks 10, Dreas 2, Pulsfort 2. Conner - Saffell 22, Scott 19, Osterbur 18, Hicks 16, Bowles 2, Couzins 2, Cook 2. * Next broadcast on Holy Cross Radio will be Thursday at Lloyd.
  15. Holy Cross Radio will at Lloyd this Thursday to broadcast the Holy Cross/Lloyd game. I for one hope Cody is back playing. I like to watch all the top players in our region play and clearly Lloyd is a different team when he is on the court.
  16. We've been saying it all year outside of #1 that is is hard to rank each week. Holy Cross dropped from #6 to #7 and they beat Campbell Co in their only game last week. Also they have beaten #6 NCC ahead of them by 22. Just saying.
