Wow….Conner started fast and never looked back. 3’s where falling all over for Conner, defense for Conner was spot on and by the end of the 1st half we have a running clock to start the 2nd half. 
 

Nice win for the Cougars. Next week Conner has NCC and Lloyd and then get ready for district play. 

CovCath has last 2 of their last 3 (granite they were against very strong opponents) and Conner now has won 5 straight games. Could we see a shift this week???

Best shooting night of the year for Conner. Highlands just let them have open 3 after open 3. Conner at one point in the 1st half was 12 of 15 from 3. Crazy. 
 

Conner is playing well. Statement win vs Mason County last week and a warning to the 9th that on any given night Conner can light you up.

I recall them making 11/15 from 3 in the first half at Holy Cross in early January. They can get crazy hot from long range.

Speaking of Conner being hot from 3 tonight, Holy Cross got off to a fast start via 3s against Highlands in the first quarter as well, which ultimately allows HC to hold on to the win at the end of the game. My question is, why not adjust your defense if you have seen this story before?

Just last week, Conner couldn’t buy a bucket against Holmes and squeaked out a W by 9, 68-59.  Conner shot 25/61 for 41% and 5/21 from 3 for 23.8%.  
 

We all know, it’s any given night.

I often ask the same question. Highlands comes out with the “we do what we do” mantra. I see it as a lack of coaching effort to adjust. The Highlands style is enjoyable when it’s on, but it doesn’t come across as being very smart at other times.

Were you at the game?  Conner shot the lights out from the opening tippy .  They would have destroyed every team in the region last night with the way they shot the ball.  Not much Highlands could do to be quite honest.  Funny that the coaching staff is being called lazy when they won a STATE title 2 short years ago while losing to the likes of Bellevue when they first started.  Some nights the other team is on and the result is what you see.

Was it a “lack of coaching effort” when Conner lost by 27 to Grant Co????  

Come on man, you can question a lot things, but the coaching effort comment may be one of the most ignorant things I’ve read on here.

 

Conner had their number, they beat them.  It happens.  Next game, which BTW is today. Go Birds!
