  1. E-town should be ranked #1 out of the gate. Boley clearly is the best player in the state no question. That being said they lost 3 very good players. It's gonna be hard to replace those minutes.
  2. This was one of the biggest nights Of this talented young ladies career. The Least we can do is pronounce her name right. Its four letters. Not exactly a tongue twister. Is ok that Joe B is oblivious to girls basketball...most people...but I don't think its too much to ask to take 5 seconds and make sure you know the name of the award recipient. Just embarrassing.
  3. I'm not a fan of either team but this post sounds like a whiny SK fan. A lopsided foul count is sometimes part of the game. Unless you are blatantly accusing the refs of being dishonest then deal with it. You speak of coach Klette's action before the game but you never stated what it was? You stated that giving her a hug and wishing the best would have spoke volumes. I agree 100% but that should happen after the game. Before The game she is the enemy. Maybe that's a little harsh but that's my opinion. I'm guessing no one on SK's side was feeling huggy kissy after the game. As far as the coach telling her team they are better off without a player that chose another team over theirs...of course that's what she should say. What's the alternative? I will give you the water cooler drenching. That is a little over the top. Probably should act like you been there before even if you haven't.
  4. If you have five girls that can take the court then you play the game. HC coaches missing a good opportunity to better their team. Disappointing.
  5. Maybe the pipeline has been under construction for the last 5 or 6 years? Maybe with the final touches of the D1 schemes put in by the D1 coaches the pipeline will start to Pay some dividends to the SK fans.
  6. Who has the best supporting cast? I have seen ACS play early in the year but have not watched Glasgow.
  7. Top to bottom the most accurate rankings that I have seen imo.
  8. Mercer, Danville or Southwestern could win the 12th this year. I think it's gonna come down to who's healthy and who gets the best draw. Lincoln and Boyle are also good enough to beat any of the three on a given night. Will be an exiting tourny.
  9. Not sure of the order but here's 5 of the best I have seen. Mykassa Robinson-Ashland Blazer Seygan Robins - Mercer County Blair Green - Harlan County Ally Neice - Simon Kenton Grace Berger - Sacred Heart I Know there are more talented frosh out there but these are the best that I have seen.
  10. Championship game of Titans Christmas Clash.
  11. Lewis County beat George Rogers Clark by 42. Wasn't at the game just saw the score. Not sure what the story is but Ouch.
  12. consistency is the magic word. Also if your calling 50 fouls in a game then you are making the focus of the game about you. That's too much. Let the touch fouls go and call the no brainers. Nobody wants to sit for 4 hours to watch one game. The best referees are the ones that you don't even notice.
  13. It doesn't necessarily mean you get spanked by 33 either. Good job Rebels!
  14. I think you may be over reacting a bit there jay. Think of a preseason poll like an educated guess. Nothing more. I'm guessing your team didn't make this list or maybe should be higher in your opinion. Am I getting warm?
  15. Im amazed at the interest in this thread. Its not rocket science. The best players should play. If coach, parent and player agree then let her play. Now how hard is that?
  16. All the more reason we should do it differently. I look at it this way...every head coach wants to win. Therefore will play the girls that give them the best chance to do that. If she's a middle school kid or a senior it should not matter.
  17. Congrats to Kennedy Harris and SW Pulaski on the tourney win. Can anyone tell me how old Harris is? I'm not judging at all and I'm actually for holding kids back or better yet starting them in school later than "normal". I only ask because I hear she and possibly more of the warriors team could Be older than the KHSAA allows by the time their senior year rolls around. I would really like to hear from someone who knows so i can say that there is no merit to this info.
  18. I could not disagree more. The last thing we need is for the KHSAA to apply a blanket rule to all programs in the state. I could be wrong but it sounds like the problem may be in Boone County. Am I reading that correctly? A MS girl can move up only if she plays varsity? No fresh/jv option? The real question here is WHO Is the person that made that rule? I would like to hear the reasoning behind it. Just my opinion.
  19. Middle school girls basketball season starts in august in our area (central ky) it is over by Nov 1. A handful of middle school girls are usually asked to play F/JV or even Varsity if their skill level merits it. The best players should play regardless of grade. I think Spindoc nailed it in his last post. I believe that is the issue most have with MS girls playing up. An 8th grader is playing ahead of their daughter and it hurts some feelings a little bit.
  20. I see where you are going here but if that senior gets beat by an eighth grader........well then she gets beat by an eighth grader. Maybe the senior should have worked harder or maybe the eighth grader is just blessed with more talent. Either way She should shake her hand and congratulate the 8th grader on winning the event and move on. I think we get too caught up in things being "fair" all the time. Life's not fair. Get over it. All the coaches that I know want to win. They will play the girls that they feel are going to give them the best opportunity to do that. If that's a 7th or 8th grader then I have no problem with it. I will say that the player, parents and the coach need to be on the same page. Girls HS basketball is a different world than middle school. On the court and in the locker room.
  21. I can agree with moving Cotton up a few spots. Although Young is a nice player i would not replace any of these 10 with her. Just my opinion.
  22. Ok. Ive seen the the freshman but not familiar with the junior. Will the junior get some minutes?Sounds like things are looking up in Liberty.
  23. Who is the 6'2 freshman and 6' junior?
  24. East Jessamine is a huge reach. They are much improved but to rank them ahead of Franklin Co., Mercy and Southwest just to name a few is just bad. I also noticed the East Jessamine coach ranks 8th overall in the best coaches in KY/TN poll. Cmon man.
