Who plays the toughest schedule in NKY?
Boone County has been stripped of a ton of talent with all the other county schools opening and they still play the elite programs in NKY. Why don't they win? HAH! Scheduling. Schedule to their talent/enrollment level and Boone County will have fun again. Cooper's success, used to play at Boone County. Conner's success, used to play at Boone County. Schedule appropriately instead of traditionally.

Boone County Mascot
Instead of changing the name, just change the symbol from a Confederate soldier to Colin Kaepernick kneeling with an American Flag waving.

See; Now there's three FANTASTIC picks. Has nothing to do with wins and losses. OH wait...Isn't that how coaches are judged? HAH!

Question. Who is the BEST High School Head Football Coach in the State of KY?
But when one looks at which Coach has done the most with the least...Who's the Best Coach in KY? Poynter is a very good pick. Beatty, Mueller, Morris (dad and son) the guys from Russell and Belfry...yep. GREAT picks. I'm sticking with Coach Smart at Grayson County.

West 25 East 7 (2017 NKY East/West All Star Game)
Pendleton and Bracken seemed a stretch to me even as I posted. Seems Grant and W-V would want to be part of it. Thanks for info rjs4470.

West 25 East 7 (2017 NKY East/West All Star Game)
Why aren't these schools included? Bracken County; same district as Brossart. Borders Ohio River, right?. Pendleton County; There's no other 3A school in NKY, right? Borders River and Campbell County, right? Grant County: In same district as CovCath, Dixie and Highlands. This is a NKY District and they should be in. Most consider(well okay; maybe just me) Grant County as the bottom of NKY. Walton-Verona: They're in Boone County; Not Boone County Schools but in Boone County. Just wondering.

Coach Kevin Wallace; Bowling Green Purples
I'm not a fan of the Grapes. More precisely; I hate them. Not a fan of Kevin Wallace. He has proven himself to be one HELL OF A COACH! Congratulations to him for all that he has done at BGHS.

High School Field Goal Rule
Where is this written in the rule book? I can't find it. I thought 'all' missed FG attempts were placed at the -20 yard line. I can't find that in the rule book either. Here's my point. My team is backed up to my own 1 yard line. Instead of punting the ball, we line up for a FG and kick it out of bounds. Under the rule that I thought to be true, the ball would be placed on my opponents' -20 yard line. According to the interpretation originating this thread and in macdon's situation with F-S, it's ruled just like a punt. Again; where is it in the rule book so that I know for sure? Thanks and yes, if an opponent is attempting an outrageously long FG attempt, put someone deep to return it.

KHSAA should be ashamed!
HAHA! Had a feeling the stats would bring a negative response to our current playoff system. Honestly; The 'old school' part of me wishes we had to 'earn' our way in. Then I look at that six schools that were underdogs and Harlan County v Pulaski that missed by just two points and I say...Let's keep it opened up to all of us. My team got crushed 55-12. Some of us on our team felt like we had an out of mind outside chance to find a way to win.

KHSAA should be ashamed!
Boone 1-9, hosted...only lost by 7. Pulaski County(8-2) hosted Harlan County(4-6) only won by 2. If we're going to water it down (entering the playoffs) with six divisions, I like that nearly everyone gets a shot. AND I like that everyone gets a shot. We do it in basketball. No shame there!

First Round Thoughts
There is one more game to be played in the first round. This tally is after 92 games. (Counted twice and think 92 is correct.) Winning Team's point total averaged 47.45 throughout the State. Margin of victory=34.10 82 games were decided by 3 scores or more (17 points+). Ten, then were less than 3 scores. That's 89% of the games were decided by 17 or more points. The visiting team lost 76 of games and won 16 of the games=83%. I admit to not knowing strength of schedule and couldn't take it into account so out of the 16 games where the visitors won; I looked at wins & losses to determine if the 'favorite' won (better record), if it was an upset (teams with worse record won) or a tossup (same record going into the game). Out of the 16 games where the travelling team won 9x the Favorite won(Frankfort, Somerset, Collins, Greenup, Bullitt Central, PRP, Manual, Cooper, Tates Creek). 5x the Underdog won (Fairview, Washington Co. Allen County-Scottsville, Eastern, Campbell Co). There were two tossups per record. (Bell & Breathitt both 4-7 going in. Lloyd & Gallatin both 6-5. Lloyd was the Favorite in that one so 10x out of 16x the visitor won; the Favorite won=63%.)
