How many 3-team districts are there in this state? How many of those regions where there are 3-teams districts, are there 5 team districts too? What is the current farthest drive in each district?

1 was coming no matter who the commissioner was, and yes, it is about letting kids play. Kids that their parents live in the state that they are playing.

Our principal just sent out an e-mail saying we are not to shake hands with ANYONE.......

Really? Give an example of something positive he has done. We have foreign pipelines for basketball, schools with 8-12 new players year after year in basketball, a watered down football playoffs, and getting ready to have a horrible basketball re-alignment.

Please tell me this will happen.....

We are now on MSN and Fox Sports because of this "directive" from our glorious commissioner. KHSAA needs tore down and started over.

Once again KHSAA is.......mind blowing.

He is super athletic. He shoots descent % from FT line. Has a knack for finding the ball on rebounds/tip ins. Descent jump hook. He has no back to basket game. He does not handle it well enough to play the 3. He does not shoot it from 3 well enough to be an extend the floor 4. His athleticism will be useless against men at the DI level, as he is skinny.

Home games at Inez Middle(future home of the high school) and Williamson Fieldhouse. Moving the games to Lawrence probably means it will never come back.

So some of you are encouraging deliberately going after or hurting a kid because of Coach Matney's antics? And he is the one who is classless?

Matney is the man. Anyone that gets the hate he does from some keyboard commandos will always be the man .....

It was big and I think between Title IX, the rise in popularity in football, and parents/kids not wanting to use of every night of the work week and their Saturday for games, basketball has fallen behind.

I still don't know if he can play at that level. He is neither a 3 or 4 in college.

I few years ago I got some basketball instruction videos from Championship Productions. They were hit and miss to say the least. Has anyone used them or does anyone have suggestions on some that are good videos?

Yes. Play every team in the region 1 time, every team makes region tourney, seeded tourney.

Starting with 2014-15, the KHSAA is looking at doing away with district tournaments for these regions because of 3-team districts. Problem with this - Some schools district titles still mean something. Finances - you are looking at taking a $5-7k hit OUT of your boys/girls basketball budget.

4 divisions, 9 game regular season, no bye weeks, and everyone makes the playoffs.

Interesting to say the least, as Pike Co. has a hiring freeze on and layoffs are a possibility.
