  1. A little surprised on that F-S v. Whites Creek score as the Cobras seldom have a winning record here in TN. Also surprised by the Clarksville NE score. Station Camp is a program on the rise so no stunner with their score. The Bison are a Region (District in KY) opponent of ours.
  2. Congratulations Coach Stonebraker and the Admirals.
  3. I'm attending the games, but will there be a live stream for folks that can't make the trip to Bowling Green?
  4. Guru; Policy not formalized yet. Basically there would be one pre-approved contracted photographer for the yearbook, one photographer designated by the football coaching staff to take “action” photos of players. Any other “media” (local newspaper, websites, etc.) would have to be pre-approved by the AD and issued sideline credentials. Hopefully this would eliminate parents, freelance videographers or other photographers taking photos to sell online roaming the sidelines during the game.
  5. Guru; My wife is an administrator and they are issuing a new policy on this topic beginning this season. Too many folks standing on the sidelines as "media."
  6. Purple; Paid $5 for our scrimmage at Smyrna. Seems to the standard here also.
  7. BE: Powell is a 5A team from the Knoxville area. They are usually one of the top programs in TN 5A.
  8. 1999, defeating Glasgow in the 2A Championship game.
  9. With With his track record at improving programs like Casey and Adair, I feel Coach Stoney will turn the program around. The Ads have a rich tradition and a good talent base. It may take awhile, but better days are ahead for DHS football.
  10. Purple; Bowling Green stadium (which is impressive) should have the capacity to host the games. Should give more of a "Friday Night" feel! See you there!
  11. Here in Tennessee, the TSSAA passed a one time transfer rule. However, the school from which the student is transferring must approve and the transfer cannot be for athletic purposes (wink). That should be easy to regulate!
  12. We had two softball players that came from their game to play in the 2nd half of the flag football last night. With flag football normally on Saturdays they can still play but they don't get to practice much due to softball. As I said earlier, Girls Soccer is a Fall sport (Boys Soccer plays in the Spring to not conflict with football) in TN so there are a lot of soccer players playing flag football. There are several football coaches that are coaching flag football. Our HC and one assistant are coaching our girls.
  13. Attended my first Girls' Flag Football (7 x 7) games last night (my wife is a high school AD) here in Sumner County, Tennessee. I was amazed at the participation in only the first year of play. All our county public schools play in one league, with one 6-A, four 5-A, two 4-A and one 3-A schools competing. Each team plays two games per Saturday with two 20-minute running clock halves per game (takes less than an hour per game with a 3-minute halftime). The season is short, with each team playing a total of eight games on four Saturdays. Our newest high school hosts the league as they use their main football field and their practice field. Wednesday night's games were a makeup due to the storms cancelling last Saturday's schedule. Our team has about 40 girls on the roster for Varsity and JV (our school enrollment is about 1,500). Even the 3-A school had about 20 girls on their Varsity team. Williamson County and Metro Nashville started play last year. Lots of soccer players on the rosters (Girls' soccer is a fall sport in TN). For Title IX purposes, it is a big winner. We are also starting Girls' lacrosse in Fall 2025. Also wish Tennessee would add archery as a co-ed sport like Kentucky has. Again, great participation for the ladies (and boys) and not expensive to field a team.
  14. Boyle vs. Bullitt East, Bowling Green vs. O'boro Catholic? Wow!
  15. Does anyone have the 2025 Schedule yet?
  16. Great review and preview Purple88 (as always)! Congrats on a great season.
  17. Great write-up Purple (as usual). Purples win big!
  18. Pope John Paul II Prep in Hendersonville, TN came open this week. Division 2 (Private Schools) , Class 2A.
  19. Reseeding in the semifinal round (4th) without regard to geography. Last year it was #1 CovCath hosting #4 Tilghman. #3 Boyle traveled to #2 Franklin County. First three rounds remain West/East.
  20. Starters out, JV in 2nd half (or before). 49-7.
  21. Great writeup once again! Should be a great game.
  22. Hendersonville HS (TN) has a lineman.
