Correct

I didnt attend the game either but my son was there because he had to work the tournament. He said Stansberry pitched the whole game. He also said it seems as if the Colonels have busted out of their hitting shells. He said Leon hit the ball real well, Dematteo hit real well and Sexton hit well. They all 3 went 2-3. Dematteo had 2 rbi's with a double and single. Leon was said to have had 1 rbi while having 2 singles and Sexton had 1 rbi while having a double off the wall and a single. Klei also had a triple. Devandro pitched for the Rebels.

Second round of the Doc Morris. Thoughts?

Thoughts?

Dixie beats Holmes 8-1 in the first game while they beat Boone County 9-3 in the 2nd game of the day

Not taking it away from them as they are all GREAT hitters but if they played at any other field in NKY there numbers might be cut down just a bit.

Boone County vs. St Henry @ Noon Dixie Heights vs. Covington Holmes @ 2 30pm Games are played at Dixie Heights Winner of each game play each other.

Final. Didnt watch the whole game. Only caught the tail end of it due to my sons freshman game starting after the varsity game.

Finally made it to a varsity game tonight only because my son had a game before the game. Very good game by the Colonels. Everyone hit good in the Colonels lineup and Sexton went the distance for the Colonels. I dont know the first kid that pitched for the Camels but Vann finished it out. The score was 8-1 going into the 7th inning. Good game by both teams.

How did Dixie get their 2 runs? I left in the middle of the 4th. And yes I think Dixie needed a loss.

Who pitched for the Pioneers?

Brett Stansberry does have a little brother that does play basketball and also plays on the JV baseball squad, Parker Stansberry.

Ill take great pitching over great hitting anyday. Dixie Heights 5 Ryle 2

Who started for each team?

Got to the game late today due to my sons freshman game. I got to the game just in time to see the Colonels put up 6 runs in I believe the 2nd inning. Smallwood came out in the 3rd. He looked very good until the 3rd then it started to look as if he was fatigued. Smallwood I believe ended up walking 3 people. Striking out 4 and giving up no hits and no runs. Then Sexton came in at the start of the 4th inning and pitched the rest of the game. If my book is correct he had 7 K's, 1 Walk and gave up 1 hit and allowed 0 runs. He also helped his cause by hitting a Solo Homerun in the 5th. The Tigers hitting looked poor today. Could be due to the pitching of the Colonels or it could have just been an off day for the Tigers. Johnson started for the Tigers and had a good 1,2,3 first inning and then the 2nd inning is where the screws came undone. The Colonels put up 6 in the inning. Then Brilze came in and threw pretty well. I dont know who the kid was to come in after Brilz. He was a lefty though. One thing I could tell from this game is the Tigers are VERY young but have ALOT of talent even though it didnt show it tonight. Good win for the Colonels. Popham looked tough behind the plate today. Hes a very very good catcher. Congrats to the Colonels on the win! :dancingpa

I would say probably Berkte for Beechwood and Smallwood for the Colonels.

Per KHSAA. Who pitched for each team? Who hit well?

Who pitched for both teams?

Was not there but I heard both teams looked like they didnt want to be there today.

How is this? Doesnt Ryle have a field tarp?

They should be.

Very good win for the Colonels!

Solid. Great Kid. This kid will end up going somewhere big. He has all the right tools.

Austin Pugh and Brad Popham are better hitters IMO.
