Anderson turned the ball over on first two possessions of the game. Franklin took advantage and got an early 14 point lead mostly on two big plays. Anderson fought back with two sustained drives for scores while FC picked up another TD. With something like 1:30 left before half FC went for it on 4th and 7 from their own 14 yd line. Go Figure that one. Anderson stopped them and then scored to tie it up at the half. The second half looked like a different game with both teams going 3 and out in fist 3 possessions or so. Finally AC broke it open on offense to score. Then an interception by AC, and a quick score again. Someone in press box said FC held to -2 yards in 4 th quarter.

Both. One turnover. But FC couldn't move ball in second half. Game over. 35-21.

Anderson county held him to 84 yds or so last week. Anderson's Ross Cox had him in his sights most of the night. Cox is a nice player you hear nothing about.

Another impressive game for WR Ross Cox. TD pass reception , KO return for TD and int return for TD. Quite a few rushing yds as well.

Anderson will score points especially if the defensive backs for Boyle are weak. Anderson backfield has been weak also. I predict a high scoring game. Close score.

I guess most of you haven't looked at what Anderson county has done in the past three years. To beat Boyle might not be as steep hill as some on here think. Anderson has been good but when they lose they usually really lay an egg. Their offense is pretty darn good. Secondary has been weak so far this year.

How did mercer co do against Anderson co last year?

I have to think you haven't played football to think the numbers don't matter that much. Conditioning is one thing but when you play a good team and you are taking the licks both ways it makes a huge difference, especially over the course of a season when those nagging injuries hang on. Notice how many players get leg cramps after a tough hit.

I totally agree on the number of athletes. They always have many players going both ways. That is their weakness but the boys always play hard and execute!

Not alot of love on here for an Anderson county team that's returning 20 of its 22 starters from a pretty good team the last two years. They will be in the top 10.

One of the seniors started and played the post. Don't have official stats but probably 6 pts per game and 8 Rebs. The other senior played very little. Anderson will have 8-9 players, all of which are probably guards. They will run, shoot lights out and press full court. Should be very good again!
