Only basketball and football have those restrictions. We have proposed banning athletes from outside teams during school year but it loses at Delegate Assembly. Many fear kids would choose AAU teams. At Brossart we make our softball players wait til our season is over

Brossart won 10-6 during regular season. Brossart lost to Camels 4-3 in regular season forcing a three way coin flip. Scott was No. 1 seed by the coin flip.

Passed ball, wild pitch when it bounces it bounces it hit the dirt first. Killed some worms. We scored two and they scored one that way. Lawnboy probably credited the Bellevue forfeit as a no hitter lol

Conner would have been the favorite for sure

If she was ejected she has to sit out two games. A coach is three. That is on the level ejected. Anytime an umpire feels the action is creating a danger he has the right to eject the player. If he thought the action was intentional, which Im sure it wasn't, he wouldn't even have to give a warning.

The Lady 'Stangs of Bishop Brossart seem to always make the 37th District Championship an exciting game. At the end of the day though they seem to always find a way to win. 5th Ranked Bishop Brossart defeated Campbell County 4-2 at Campbell County to win their 11th District Championship in the last 14 years. It was the seventh time they had defeated Campbell County in the Championship since 1999. The other four came over Scott (Twice) and Pendleton County (Twice). Last year Brossart defeated Campbell Co. twice during the regular season by the mercy rule and then held on in the District to win 1-0. This year they had outdistanced the Lady Camels 12-4 earlier in the season. “We weren't patient on waiting on the pitch,” said Head Coach Tom Baynum who won his first District Title as Head Coach. “However in the end we found a way to win and get the job done. I'm proud of our team for taking advantage of some situations and playing solid defense when it counted.” Allie Anstead got things rolling for Brossart in the second opening with a double and she eventually raced home on a wild pitch. In the third she followed Maria Greis' single with another double. A Karlie Shackelford shot up the middle made it 3-0 where it remained til the 6th inning where Campbell got on the scoreboard with a wild pitch and it was 3-1. Brossart came right back though as Emily Greis reached base on an error and also eventually scored on a wild pitch to make it 4-1 Brossart. In the top of the seventh Lilly Rebholz singled for Campbell and was forced out on a bunt by Anna Snowball. Shackelford fielded the bunt and fired a strike to Molly Williams who tagged out Rebholz at second. On the next pitch Allison Franzen laced a triple to right center scoring Snowball. That brought up Danielle Orick who lofted a fly to left where leftfielder Shannon Kremer positioned herself p[erfectly and fired a bullet to catcher Erica Riedeman to nail Franzen at the plate to end the game. Brossart's freshman pitcher Karlie Shackelford handcuffed the Lady Camels to just four hits and earned a spot on the All Tournament Team. In doing so she earned her 20th win of the season becoming the second Brossart freshman to win 20 games joining Jasmine Vogelpohl. Karlie was joined on the All Tournament team by Sophomore Shannon Kremer and Sophomore Allie Anstead. Next up the 10th Region Tournament. 5th Ranked Brossart improves to 25-12 while Campbell falls to 9-13 Karlie Shackelford

In the final softball poll, Ryle (16-13) earned three of the six first-place votes to edge Conner (25-10) by two points. The two teams split their two regular-season matchups. Ryle went 9-2 against Ninth Region teams and played a tough schedule that featured three teams from South Carolina, three teams from Ohio, a team from Tennessee and a team from Indiana. St. Henry (25-7) finished third and didn’t earn a first-place vote. Conner received two and Walton-Verona, which finished fourth, received the other first-place vote. Bishop Brossart (24-12) :notworthy:finished fifth, Ahead of Simon Kenton (22-13), Dixie Heights (18-12), Boone County (18-9), Notre Dame (21-9) and Grant County (19-12-2)

I haven't really heard Bellevue's side of the story so I hate to comment, however I can say that I have never been at a meeting or draw where a team that asked for a special consideration that it was not granted. One of the first questions asked at the Region Draw each year is "Do any of you have Graduations or events we need to work around?" In basketball this year we voted unanimously to change the entire format of the Region so it did not conflict with the ACT testing. Like someone said before I'd hope there is more to this story.

I like it how memyselfandi is an expert on all our games when she has only been at one, a 12-4 loss for her team. We would all like to know where she coached so we can do some background checks. As far as stats, it didn't seem to hurt Miller or Griffith. I think Miller destroyed NKU this year. She wanted to go into a program NKU did not offer. One of the hilarious points about the stats is that for the most part another person kept the stats for a majority of games this year and he wasn't even present for several games. Having actually worked in College Athletics...show me a coach who looks at stats and it will be soon an unemployed coach. Coaches evaluate the tools as welll as grades not stats. A Coach that evaluates stats is one who may end up on a gator.

The Lady 'Stangs gave one away at Conner on Saturday. :eek:They scored two runs early and led 2-0 thru the fifth when Conner scored a run on an error and then in the sixth Brossrat tried to intentionally walk Halcomb but got the 2-0 pitch too close to the plate enabling her to hit a sac fly to tie it. Two costly errors in the seventh allowed Number 2Conner to eek out a 3-2 win on Senior day. Brossart is now 23-12 while Conner improves to 25-10.
