  1. I'll call it...isn't this EXACTLY what Bracken County is doing by refusing to play away at these sites ? Holding Augusta and St Pat "hostage" until they decide to see it the way Brooksville does ? :sssh:
  2. Do not disagree with anything you have said... As for the final part, time will tell....and it will work itself out one way or the other
  3. On the surface, I call it into question. If CC wanted this coach, interviewed in spring, and didn't get him until after the summer, then I would have lots more questions..... Given the seemingly revolving door of Head Bball Coaches and AD's, none of this is a surprise....CC has a mission, I think it's a great one. They put life priorities ahead of sport priorities, again, great thing. I suspect that at least some parents have some legitimate grumbling...just because a school superimposes a standard over the skill set of coaching, doesn't mean that they don't want a solid place for their kids to play.
  4. Oh no....I know exactly what he's implying !
  5. This will not be an issue at Calvary, I can assure you... Prior teams lacked discipline and needed to be accountable to itself...previous coaches did not appear to be on that script necessarily. This is a tough school to be a Varsity coach. I would be surprised if Calvary "waited" to get Brown, but rather the vacancy and the coach were both mutually available...just my thought.
  6. You should really get out and watch some 10th Girls basketball more often....you may be missing some things....
  7. My favorite current player....possibly my favorite ever, and I got a few. This kid is lots of fun, highly competitive and has a great family background that is pure drive....I wish her the best and hope she holds out for what might be....
  8. I'm guessing Richie got that done with some State Ag funding.....
  9. Sounds like a great opportunity for them to get better....why would a team mate assume anything about another player carrying them ? If they are below average because a player leaves, that's on the coach and the team to correct, not the player leaving.
  10. Depends on the day, the school, the sport.....but if you happen to ever find out how it actually does work, please, let us know.....
  11. Are you saying that cursing is a Top 3 terminable offense for a coach ? I believe this is location / sport specific
  12. I'm pretty sure VM is joking...in fact, I'm certain he is
  13. You are exactly correct on these conditions. Again, I'm not opposed, it's very clearly spelled out, just may not be for everyone...
  14. Neither is detecting it, but since you brought it up....maybe a little closer look during pre-game is in order ?
  15. There was, an still is, a lot of activity surrounding the St Henry Athletic program. Jobs were offered, declined, people were removed, some didn't see it coming, others were on the outside even though they thought they were on the inside.... Lots of movement, but lots of the same hanging around the edges....this will be curious moving forward.
  16. This is a tough job to fill. The additional expectations may lead some potential coaches away from this job. Nothing against the expectations at all, just not the flavor that most are likely interested in .
  17. If the umpires are doing their job correctly, you will have one go out on the fly balls and verify. If an umpire can't get 30 - 50 feet into an outfield to verify that a ball either goes over, under or through a fence, and certainly if 3 umpires cannot verify that, well then maybe the best umpires aren't getting sent to the show....
  18. I get your point, however, do you really think that the design or lack of media space is the most important focus for the reasons not to move it ? (The video of this particular play was shot from an angle off of the plate through a chain link fence, so not sure what's so great about the current media set up) I don't think most of the state (with possibly the exception of the Western portion) really care at all where this tournament is played, only that the facility supports the game. How is it that we can continue to have these type of situations that are primarily generated because of the FIELD conditions that create the situations ? (Please insert any arguments about officiating levels here...you won't get any disagreement...)
  19. This is 1000% true. Every.Last.Word.
  20. So I assume you have several old pair on your trophy shelf next to all those home run balls ?
  21. Congrats Coach ! You've got something going on here...looking forward to the next couple hundred.....
