A Ryle Raider Newcomer?
Is this a legitimate opinion statement ? Top 5 in the country ? That is an incredibly serious opinion....IMO

Transfer Rule/AAU connection
"Is not required" is a key part of this exception. In the end, physical change of residence of custodial is the key, irrespective of whether that student athlete played summer ball / AAU for the gaining school coach. High School coaches could do themselves a big favor and take themselves out of coaching AAU ball during the off season....it truly eliminates a lot of issues and cleans it up nicely for the student athletes and their parents.

Bracken County Lady Bears Tap Deron Ray As HC
What is the statute of limitations on a coach being removed and complaints still being lodged ? Give it a rest. He's not coming back and he's gone for a reason. On a secondary note: it's good to see that you somehow support BC sports yet in the same sentence believe they "got was coming to them".....ironic I believe is what you were going for.

Open Job: St. Patrick
This is probably a tough fill I'm guessing...the coaching pool is a little shallow lately down the AA. (No offense intended to anyone currently coaching, just doesn't seem to be a lot of options out there)

Patrick Kelsch named head coach at Robertson County
Let's don't get carried away here. Good coach, no doubt, but I understand your bias.

Patrick Kelsch named head coach at Robertson County
Coach Kelsch has the best interest of these kids in mind. Historically not a powerhouse, Robertson County (Deming to the old schoolers out there) has a proud tradition of community. I believe Robertson County is the smallest county in Kentucky and not necessarily on the beaten path. They typically play hard and draw a pretty reasonable crowd, as there is not a lot to do in Robertson County other than play basketball. They have an beautiful, fairly new school and gym, and their pre-game introduction rivals Rupp Arena. (I know Deuce, your not familiar with that, but it's pretty spectacular) I don't think it will be easy, but he's the guy to do it if it's going down that way. A school like this cannot afford to go without having teams...would be a much greater disservice and likely have some long lasting effects on the kids and the community. BTW: Robertson County has the highest rating for Chili Dogs in the entire 10th Region.

Patrick Kelsch named head coach at Robertson County
In this case, it's not like there are likely a lot of qualified applicants or necessarily people knocking down the door to get the job...

Patrick Kelsch named head coach at Robertson County
For this to happen though, the other schools have to be willing to pass on the standard format of JV / V. I don't necessarily dislike the idea, but I'm thinking scheduling is a nightmare.

Good luck to Coach Kelsch. I suspected this may be an option. Going to be an interesting year at Robertson County....

Low numbers at Newport
Anyone recall this story from a few years ago ? Parents cry foul when football teams ruled ineligible | Northern Kentucky - WLWT Home Parents cry foul when football teams ruled ineligible Undefeated Newport teams can't compete in playoffs Some parents are outraged because their sons' undefeated football teams aren't allowed to compete in the playoffs. The Northern Kentucky Youth Football League voted to suspend Newport's organization after three of the city's four teams finished without a loss. "The problem is we're winning, (and) they're not," said Dorien Cosby, coach of the Newport Firefighters. "They don't like that." League officials said Newport's teams used eight illegal players, including players recruited from outside the city. But parents said all teams do. Mykah Cooks played on a waiver, and he said that was never a problem until his team started winning.

Team Sport....I would say that peer pressure is a great tool in this case

Coach Mike Harper in Court
If this young lady had ongoing pain related to playing the game, then why didn't her parents take her to a doctor to get checked out ? The injuries cited are not caused by a one time event (with the exception of the concussion). And why wait until after the season if she had already quit the team after 4 games ? If she wanted to make a statement, why not bring the heat during the season, when you had a better chance at compare and contrast the coaching style. This reminds me of a situation a few years ago at CCHS where a player / parent had an issue with a block / charge drill and their kid was alleged to have been hurt. Parent was a school board member.
