Highlands 42 Covington Catholic 37
Most points given up by Highlands since 2005 losing to Colerain 45-14, St. X 45-0 and Desales 48-22. No NKY team has scored that many points against the Bluebirds since prior to 1998, when the KHSAA records begin online.

Max Halpin, Bradley Way, Jake Henderson, Tim Connaughton and Daniel Sandfoss and Drew Bamberger is a backup. And Spencer Hemmer is the TE.

Both defenses could not get off the field. CovCath wad 10/13 on 3rd down conversions and Highlands was 7/8. I can't remember a better 3rd down converstion percentage for a CovCath team. And they did it against Highlands. Seriously?

For those of you harping on the under center vs. shot gun decision. Please name the number of drives inside the 5 that did not work for CovCath this year that resulted in a FG attempt? Fumbles don't count. I'm talking about series that resulted in a FG attempt because they did not score in 3 downs. I'll be waiting patiently for an answer.

Not true about the clock. It was a first down and the clock should have stopped to move the chains immediately. CCH called time out when the clock should have been stopped. The clock did not stop at all.

Covington Catholic 40 Beechwood 28
Hey Guru, we need to still hook up at one of these games. To try to make some sense of what the coaches may have been doing, and this is only my opinion, is that although beating Beechwood is nice, they are not going to beat everyone just running the football, so they stay true to what they are and that is as balanced as they can be; 40 rushes and 25 pass plays. My guess is they would prefer 30 each with 250 yards each. If something is being taken away they adjust like they did yesterday. Also, stretching the field once in a while does open up the run.

I hate being wrong and maybe I talked my color man into believing what I thought I saw, but if you listened you heard us give credit to Bobby Beatrice for the 33 yard run with 53 seconds left in the first half from the CCH 20 to the Beechwood 47. I've been told that it was in fact Gabe Gray as this was confirmed to TOG by Gray and Beatrice. I can still see #24 running up that field which really has me concerned. :isurrender:

Beechwood vs. Covington Catholic Predictions
In speaking with the players on the sidelines of the JV game, anyone that thinks they are looking past Beechwood has never more been grossly mistaken.

LaSalle's Grippa Says "We're Tough"
Guess CovCath should stop practicing in air conditioning and eating bon bons during two a days. We'll see how tough they are when the rest of the GCL throws over 500 yards against their secondary. I mean c'mon, little old untough CovCath threw for almost 200 yards in the first quarter.

Highlands vs. Kenton County All star team- who would win?
Just when I thought there were no more ways to answer questions about just how good Highlands is. Yet, we have another winner. Can we just agree that Highlands is very good, have been very good for a very long time, and will probably continue to be very good?

Capano did not return the punt.

TOG, I appreciate what you're saying, but grown adults that would risk serious health issues attending a sporting event that they on the own choose to go to is insanity on their part. They need to think of their health first and not watching the game.

The heat has affected my reading abilities. And Auburn not losing is also not helping. My apologies to FATSNBUL. Amazing how not seeing one little word can change things.

Oh my goodness, shut the front door. We've lost the respect of FATSNBUL.

LaSalle (OH) 41 Covington Catholic 10 (Called at halftime due to heat index)
Not sure if it was injury or heat. He had two fumbles and CCH recovered the 2nd one. He had 11 carries and 2 catches.

Disturbing image TOG. Hope you're ok.
