  1. Interesting turn of events. Coach Marple was named the principal at Taylor County High School earlier this year and had to resign his position as head coach, per school district guidelines. Marple's required resignation was confirmed in March when Taylor County assistant coach Scott Parkey was named head coach of the Cardinals. Now McCreary Central Athletics has posted on Facebook that "Coach Marple comes to us from Taylor County High School where he was the head coach & principal," and that he is now head football coach for the Raiders. No word on what happened to Eric Privett at McCreary Central, either.
  2. Per the David & Darryl Sports Network, Quentin Warren, who is younger brother of former Belfry QB Sani Warren (BHS '14), opted to start at Pikeville instead of Belfry. Big loss for the Pirates, big pickup for the Panthers. Quentin will be entering his freshman year at Pikeville.
  3. The field matches the graphic on their schedule now:
  4. A little late to the party with the info, but I didn't realize that Blake Ladson stepped down as head coach mid-seasons last year for the Colonels. Per Scott Brown at YourSportsEdge, Zachary Self is the "interim" coach for the Colonels' final football season this year.
  5. I guess that's also kind of one of my points...it seems like more of a haves vs. have-nots situation usually when people complain about kids going and playing sports at Catholic schools. To say that it's not a fair comparison to compare in-district Beechwood people playing at their in-district Catholic school versus in-district Ludlow people playing at their in-district Catholic school is actually a literal direct comparison. Saying that it shouldn't matter to one school because, "oh, but they already have talent so it's not the same with them" is a caveat made to suit an agenda. Haves and have-nots exist in life, and that is what it is 🤷‍♂️
  6. I know you more than likely didn't mean anything by it, but comments like this one really irk me. Gaiser, from Ludlow, *IS* going to high school where he is from. Ludlow, and St. Boniface/St. James Parish, has been an identified feeder for Cov Cath since Cov Cath was created in 1925. I grew up in Fort Mitchell and knew I was headed to Cov Cath from the time I knew what Cov Cath was - and I've never in my life heard anyone from Beechwood complaining about how any Ft. Mitchell residents who attended Cov Cath weren't "going where they were from."
  7. I've checked my Twitter feed probably 4 or 5 times today. Haven't noticed any issues. What are people complaining about? As a website that is free for the absolute vast majority of users, I have a hard time complaining about occasional glitches. Twitter is a massive website that has been around for almost 2 decades...so the amount of programming that has been revised and re-written, and revised and re-written, and revised and re-written undoubtedly numbers in the millions of lines of code. And I'm sure in 20 years time they've had to switch entire programming languages at least a time or two as well. So if they ever want to revise ANYTHING on the site, it's gonna be a monumental effort beyond what most people outside of the computer science world can comprehend in order to just make that happen, much less make that happen without any glitches at any point. With the number of changes that are being made to the site in the post-Elon Musk takeover era, I think it's more than impressive that they haven't had to completely take the site down on several occasions in order to upload their changes. And personally speaking, I haven't had any negative experiences at this point from any of Elon's changes. As a matter of fact, I think most of them are notable improvements.
  8. I haven't noticed anything...and I'm in it regularly.
  9. Neither Cov Cath nor Highlands is currently playing up in the current football alignment, so there would be no change for either school if the KHSAA does away with schools playing up in class.
  10. Snag the $5 seasonal bouquet from the flower stand at Kroger whenever you think of it.
  11. Essentially everyone on the team plays both ways. Willie is a linebacker. Had significant playing time as a sophomore, and started last year until he was injured.
  12. Yep...it's probably been 10 or 15 years since they last played one.
  13. Thanks, @ThrowItDeep. I've updated the schedule in the original post.
  14. Per @ThrowItDeep in the Ohio County thread, the Wildcats will host the Eagles on September 15. I've now got it updated in the original post.
  15. Hancock County actually recently started using Kalamazoo College's logo as their own. Hancock County
  16. There's a handful of schools that use variants of Georgia Tech's yellow jacket logo, Buzz. Central Hancock County Middlesboro Nicholas County Woodford County
  17. North Bullitt uses the logo above, and they also use a logo lifted from the Philadelphia Eagles....along with Franklin County, Johnson Central, and Scott. Actually, there may be more than just those 4 using logos jacked from the Philadelphia Eagles. North Bullitt Franklin County Johnson Central Scott
  18. I don't know where this eagle/hawk logo originated, but it is currently being used by (at least) Fairview and North Bullitt, and was used by LaRue County up until recently. I get the idea that the graphic is out there for free usage, because I've seen dozens and dozens of teams using it over the years. Fort Campbell's falcon logo is similar but different:
  19. Not gonna lie, I'm a little disappointed that he picked UK. He seemed like he was such an afterthought to Stoops and company when it came to giving him an offer. Then all of the sudden once they did offer him (6 full months after he got his first handful of D1 offers, and after their first two or three picks as tight end passed on UK), Kentucky turned to giving this whole song and dance about "Ohhhh, we want you here in Lexington SO much! We neeeed you as a Cat, Willie!"
  20. KSR is also broadcasting a commitment live on air tomorrow. I don't have any insider information as to whether or not it's Willie, though...may be a coincidence, may not be.
