Just my opinion after watching over 20 WV games this year, there was no set offense being ran and certainly nothing specific for Sean's talents. There was a lot of give the ball to Taz Sherman and everyone else get out of the way. Just thought they could have been more successful if there had been more of a team concept being ran for multiple players especially when they had a 15 game losing streak late season.

I would agree but I will also add that UK passed on Sean out of HS and again out of Sinclair when they clearly had the chance to nab him so while there was a time when he probably would have walked to Lexington I believe there are much better places for his talents.

No disrespect to Bellarmine but there's not a chance he lands there. Already has several high major offers and will land someplace extremely beneficial to his talents as a marksman!

Nice write up. The 9th will be loaded again next year. With the to. With the amount of youth thar was shown at Newport and Lloyd the the depth that returns at CCH and Cooper, who only had 2 Srs on the team, and others the region will be extremely competitive.

My thoughts exactly…. Great accomplishment no doubt but with the talent they have year in and year out this is no surprise.

Absolutely amazing how not playing a team 1 year equates to “ducking” at team! Cooper has played CCH nearly every year of there short 13 year existence but they don’t match up this year and suddenly their scared, hilarious because if you know coach Sully you would understand he’s not scare of ANY team. There are reasons it just didn’t work out this year, so be it, but the Jags clearly showed that despite being outmanned and expected to lose by 20+, they came out and fought and for 3 qtrs they were primed to possibly pull off the upset. CCH played stiff defense in the 4th qtr, made their free throws and the Jags offense couldn’t score and while there are no moral victories they were able to hold one of the best, high powered teams in the state to their lowest point total of the year. CCH won the game and kudos to them, move on.

Congrats to Coach Holthaus and the Lady Jags! History continues to be made! Good luck and keep playing together and bring it home!

Fully enjoy Cooper Football Assistant coach Ben Brown calling a game as a fill in this season! Great voice and clearly, having a podcast which focuses on the NBA really made him sound like a natural.

Should be a great game. The young Lady Jags continue to make history for their program and Coach Holthaus is doing one heck of a job. I’m hoping they can keep it going!

Interesting take. I guess Highlands and Cooper knew CCH was going to be extremely good this year and decided not to schedule them even though they had consistently played in the past. You're right, they must have been extremely scared.

Right!! But then again I’m sure there were similar comments last year as well. I’m sure, internally, CCH isn’t taking any team for granted and blocking out all the noise, or as Saban calls it, rat poison, from the outside. All the talk of it would take an “All-Star” team to beat any team is kinda funny to me. Are they the favorite, absolutely, can anything happen, absolutely. It’s kinda why they play the game.

Should be a fun tourney. Interesting on many levels. 10 years ago Cooper drew the toughest team in the region and one of the best in the state and pulled off the upset. Not saying that will happen again but I guess that’s why they play the game lol. Throw in some rematches a from earlier in the year and this should make for some exciting games.

The Jags will just continue to do what they do, play in your face defense, get out and run when they can and be smart in the half court offense. Cooper’s bench is deep enough to cause problems for whom ever they play and after watching how well they rebounded the ball last night on both ends of the floor I see a game that may be close but Cooper coming out on top by 8-10+. Having Berry back is a huge plus and if Brooks gets going early I see that being problem that Conner doesn’t have an effective answer for.

Good group and I have heard O’Hara is a very good athlete like his older brothers. Sure he’ll be good in high school in basketball and of course football.

All good and no feathers ruffled. Having 2 sons that played for the Jags I know the program a little. Anything can happen come tourney time.

If you’re not knocking the Cooper program you’d be familiar that the Jags have NEVER been a dominant scoring team and that includes the 2017 State Runner-up team. You will find them playing dominant defense Year in and Year out. Not really sure what the point is. Coach Sully is going to get the most out of his team on the defensive end of the floor regardless of who’s in the schedule.

If you happened to be at the game you would have realized Scott played the slow down game just like Newport did over a week ago and not Cooper. In fact, they have tried to get out and run as much as possible. Regardless, the last I checked it takes 1 point to win a ball game and just because Cooper doesn’t score tons of points like others t doesn’t mean they would have any worse record because they will guard which coach Sully has built his program around. Why anyone would question this is beyond me but then again we’ve heard this for years. Cooper will just continue to do what they do which is play solid defense and be opportunistic on offense and let the chips fall where they may.

Right! Someone must not be familiar with Coach Sullivan and the history of of Jaguar basketball!! ?

Good game and Cooper’s defense is doing what Sully demands! Both teams have missed some golden opportunities. 2nd half will be determined by who executes the best.

Just an ugly game all the way around. After a good 1st quarter by Cooper, and Newport for that matter, the game went down hill. Newport held the ball forever it seemed on offense, primarily due to the Jags typical tough defense, and when Cooper did get the rebound they did try to get out and run but simply could not find the basket. The offense was not good for either team past the first quarter. Coach Snapp was his exciting self and Coach Sully lost it a time or too on his players as well. Not a good game for either team which kept it very close.
