I've seen this questions asked before, but I thought I would ask it a different way . Since a lot of the covid restrictions were lifted this year, I was able to attend more games than usual. I noticed a lot of different voices behind the microphone than I have heard in years past calling games. Was wondering who you all enjoyed listening to this past season, or if there was anyone that made watching the game unbearable! haha Just hoping to have fun with this!

This is probably not a good answer to the question, but I’m not a big fan of the overly hyped, overkilled amped up P.A. announcing at the BB&T arena games where you can’t hear yourself think. If it’s not the way too loud P.A. announcing then it’s the amped up music all that takes away from the experience if you’re at all trying to talk to whoever you attended that game with. If I wanted to attend a concert, then I’d attend a concert. I probably sound old but I can jam out with the best of them at a concert, and I suppose the general public don’t mind the additional fabricated excitement, but I simply want to attend a basketball game where I already expect band and fan noise, but the overkill nonsense that I’m referring to, I can surely do without.

Not sure who all had new pa announcers, I know in the 35 th district, it was all the same as the past few years, I wasn’t in all gyms, but Conner and Boone are the same veteran guys as well.

Ryle’s PA sang the national anthem when I was there.  Told our PA/bookkeeper he needed to step up his game.

If you're talking about "in gym" PA announcing the top couple for me are Holmes (Danny) and Bellevue (Joe Barnes). Both crush it in my opinion !!!

Fully enjoy Cooper Football Assistant coach Ben Brown calling a game as a fill in this season!  Great voice and clearly, having a podcast which focuses on the NBA really made him sound like a natural.

Great Topic.  I've been wanting to respond to this all season.  A couple of things that drive me nuts.

Like B-Ball-fan said, some of the venues PA / sound systems are wayyyyyy too loud.  I hear people complaining in the stands at a couple of the gyms about the volume of the music pre game and during TO's.  That's an easy fix, although you'd think the operator would already be aware of how blaring loud it is?

I don't expect PA guys / gals to be professional DJ's, but they could at least fade out the music after TO's instead of cutting the blaring music off directly.  Most of the PA people have been doing this for some time, you'd think they would know the players names, or at least how to pronounce them??  It drives kids and parents crazy when PA's don't pronounce their players names correctly.  Petty on these I know, but you asked.

Bellevue was one of my favorite stops this year.  Great PA and music.  He did an outstanding job.

Williamstown has a great PA guy.  Very professional.

Bishop Brossert was one of our least favorites.  They had a substitute / fill-in PA guy during our game.  He was making comments on the mic during the game, saying "defense - defense" during our possessions; it was like being at an And 1 event at some city park somewhere.

Along those lines, I've noticed that a number of school's student section's are way down in attendance.  Any thoughts on this?  Also, many games we had no Pep Band.  I thought basketball games were what Pep Bands lived for.  Thoughts?

I am among those who very much dislike the blaring music usually played before the game and during timeouts.  However, I recently attended a game at Ludlow and thought their musinc selection was outstanding.

Student Sections not near what they used to be.  Main problem (IMO) is  cell phones.  If you look at the student section during a game, everyone is on their cell phones.  Very few paying attention to the game.
