  1. Huge loss for Cooper as this one is a player and will only get better.
  2. The Cooper football program is in good shape. Cooper is no different than any other school that has players that change schools for various reasons. Coach Borchers will put a competitive team on the field with players that "want" to be in the program. I do love the entertainment of the post though
  3. Talked to Thad this week and he assured me they were extremely confident LSU was going to play well and bring home the W. I wouldn't hold anything against him with regard to how many HS he went to, happens all the time and if you don't know his "situation" you can't judge. Bottom line is he found the right fit in HS and in college since NC State was not a good situation either. He balled out, helped LSU to a win and clearly showed he has NFL potential.
  4. Spot on and IMO this is what happens when you have a weak schedule in the ACC and then you are not battle-tested and really don't play anyone until the last 2 games of the year giving up over 1000 yards and 65 points. They were lucky vs. Ohio State IMO and LSU simply just finished them off. I figured this would be a blowout of 14 points or more and frankly it could have been worse.
  5. This was a unique game in that there were 86 passes vs. only 60 running plays (and of those I am guessing ~15 were qb scrambles/sacks). From the 86 passes 37 of those were incomplete meaning the clock stopped every time. Long game but good nonetheless for college football junkies like myself.
  6. He took his redshirt year after the 4th game at his "coaches recommendation". Everyone had to know that he was going to enter the portal.
  7. Former Cooper HS standout Michael Spencer has committed to Vanderbilt. Michael spent last season at The Taft School in Connecticut which is a prep school giving him another year of development where he was named 1st team All-Conference and had multiple D1 offers at the completion of the season. Michael becomes only the 2nd player to go on to play D1 football from Cooper. Congrats to Michael and great news for Cooper and NKY.
  8. THE GAME has been and always will be the greatest rivalry in sports IMO. This rivalry is over 100 years old and while OSU has owned TTUN for 14 of the last, 15 years, including 7 in a row, true fans of each team understand that records don’t mean a thing frankly. TTUN fans are going through what us Buckeye fans went through during the 2-10-1 John Cooper era so I have no sympathy for them as I am a diehard Buckeye. With that said, I feel this will be closer than many think but the Buckeyes will control the game winning 27-13.
  9. Difficult, yes, impossible, no. It was just 3 seasons ago that Ryle was 2 points away from winning a regional title and it wasn't that long ago that Cooper was the State runner-up as well as winners of 2 regional titles along the way in the last 7 years. Yes, I concur, the spreading of talent among the 4 schools in Boone Co. makes it difficult to consistently be a contender. I look at this as glass half full in Boone Co. as this will ALWAYS be cyclical in nature for these 4 high schools. With the above stated, I will say that coaches need to evaluate the talent that they have and utilize it to the best of their ability. These 4 schools cannot afford to be on "system-lock" thinking that it's "plug and play". If the players don't fit your system......change your system.
  10. Don't know much about the staff at Ryle but "Systems" must adapt to the personnel, not the opposite.
  11. Step back imo. Cupboard full of athletes vs stronger competition. No reason to leave a good thing that’s running well to try to go fix something else and feel the wrath of the HHS fans when things don’t go their way and not beat CCH or get to state.
  12. Newport puts together 4 solid quarters again to pull out this victory by 3.
  13. Correct me if I’m wrong but didn’t most HHS fans want their best players going both ways.
  14. Predicted a 10 point Conner win and I was spot on! Congrats to the Cougars and keeping the only Boone Co. team left in the playoffs.
  15. I predicted Conner by 10 and looks like I was pretty accurate. All the pregame banter of HHS by 2 scores or more and their defense was too good I knew would never happen with this game at Conner. Tough place to play. Just something about that field....
  16. Well, well, well. Just about how I thought this game would be playing out.
  17. Taking Conner in this one and I believe it will be larger than the first meeting. Offensively Conner is pretty potent when they are clicking on all cylinders and just as important, the game is at Conner. Just something that about place that gives them an edge IMO. While the birds defense is pretty good, I haven't seen anything seen anything offensively that says they will dominate this game. 21-10 Conner.
  18. Say whaaaaat? Didn’t several pick BW to win by 2 td’s?
  19. Yeah, turning the ball over too much. If they were intimidated the game would have reflected a blowout which so many HHS faithful predicted. Congrats to the birds on getting the W but I can assure no one at Cooper was intimidated especially in a one score game.
  20. WOW!! Congrats to the Bulldogs! 50 points is huge!
