Which middle school teams/players out there are having great starts to their season?  Who is sticking out?

I know a lot of 8th graders are playing up but which middle school teams are making an impression?

Apparently, not an impressive 8th grade class this year. 

There are some quality players at the 8th grade level this year;

Dylan Lee - Grey'

Gavin Lyons - Grey

Nathan Verax - Ockerman

Cameron O'Hara - Ockerman

Nathan Rickerts - Highlands

How good is the Bradshaw 8th grader who sister is at NDA?  Where is he playing this year?  I believe he is an 8th grader, but heck, I could have that wrong too.

I’ve seen nearly all 8th grade teams.  
 

Top Tier….Highlands

Second Tier….Gray Beechwood

Third Tier……Campbell Ockerman

Gray lost to CC and Ockerman, but beat Beechwood. 

I'd go:

Top Tier: Highlands, Ockerman, CC

Second Tier: Gray, Beechwood

Id remove Ockerman from any tier until they figure out whatever issues they are having.  Watched them play Highlands last night and let’s just say, it was an uncomfortable and humbling loss for the young men from Florence.

Good group and I have heard O’Hara is a very good athlete like his older brothers. Sure he’ll be good in high school in basketball and of course football. 

New tournament format this year with not everyone getting in only the top two from a North, South, East and West divisions kicks off tonight. N#1 Highlands v S#2 Gray, E#1 Campbell v W#2 Conner, W#1 Turkeyfoot v E#2 Summitview, S#1 Ockerman v N#2 Beechwood.

Highlands Gray matchup in round one is going to be a good one!  Lots of talent on the floor.

Yes, tonight at 7:30 at Twenhofel.  Birds won the first meeting by 10, both teams were missing key guys.  Everyone should be full strength tonight.  Gray is back to back region champs (6th and 7th) minus a couple guys playing up.  Highlands undefeated this year and will not have Vinny Listerman who also played 9th/JV.
