You and Qryche11 can believe what you want; but, it just isn't true. They missed him last year, I will agree. They played an entire season without him last year. The last time he played was when Manillo (sp) and that group played. Saying they will miss Manillo two years after his is gone is the same thing. Would we like to have Larimore, sure. But like I said, ya can't miss what ya didn't have.

Nahhh, you can't miss what you haven't had. He hardly played at all last year. I am not saying he isn't a good football player. I am just saying that he did not contribute that much last year and will not be missed. They have two juniors that are over 6'2" that can play defensive end. Plus, they worked Brilz in at end last year in case one of them plays on the offensive side of the ball. I am not concerned about losing Larimore.

Heck of a time to leave!

I watched them play Beechwood last year and they were very good. When I got home I looked through their roster to see who they were losing and I remember that they do not lose many seniors. Beechwood will have a hard time when they meet in the 4th round again in 2010. The good news is that Mayfield gets to travel this time and that is a looooooong ride.

Where is he from? What is his background?

Coach Berneir is a good man and has a state championship but I hope that they get someone young and energenic.

How do the Cov. Cath. faithful see the o line and d line stacking up this year and the size of each boy?

VOR, you keep saying this and I hope your are right. How do you see the O and D lines stacking up? I know things change once practice starts...but as of right now, how do you see it?

I saw coach Starnes last night at the Bellevue vets and he was very tight lipped. All he would say is that I will 'be happy with the choice'. Sounded like he made a choice, just not ready to announce at this time. Who knows why......

That was better defense. No argument about any of that. My point was that Myerhoff let Bertke stay in the game an inning to long. He alone almost blew it for them. I know his pitch count was not high but it was obvious that he was running out of gas.

Beechwood got lucky. Their coach almost blew it by leaving Bertke in the game to long. Just my opinion......

What about that Wilson boy that runs the JV games? I think I heard he is a teacher. IS Montgomery a teacher? I realize that they don't need a teacher but some admins prefer to have someone that will be in the halls of the school.

I thought he was going on an academic scholarship. That's what I heard months ago.

I was talking with Dusty last week at Kroger and even though we did not talk football (all baseball), it seems that Dusty thinks his boy can play baseball at the next level. Again, we only talked baseball and I doubt he would want to risk any football injury that could harm his baseball opportunities.

Not only is he elusive, he has great balance. I enjoy his balance as much as his speed and quickness.

That is why I was wondering if the coaching staff is considering moving Larimore back to the QB position. I have no insight on this. just an option. I also agree with your opinion about the line; however, with that being said, I think there will still be a handfull of guys going both ways. Probably not with the lineman but more at the skilled positions.

At this point, with all those sophomore lineman now juniors, I think they should be pretty deep with lineman. You have Flannery, Lawless, Williams, Brilz, Eyckmans, Greenweller, Bradley. I think all or some of these guys could fill in pretty quickly if someone goes down. I feel they will be deep at the line position. That is just my opinion.

Well, on the offensive line, we know we have the returning center (Adams)and one of the tackles (Genal). Was Mathews hurt much of last year? I don't remember seeing him play much. Then you could possibly have Thoerner and Bragg slide in there somewhere. That could form a senior line. As far as the juniors, there is a list of them that could be worked in or even get a starting position doepending on how hard they are working now. I think they are stong at wide out with junior Brennan and senior Smith. Running back should be Vocke and possibly Staten playing both ways as the fullback/linebacker. Others that could get carries could be Kremer and a few sophmores Erdman and Nussbaum. Is Crane coming back to play? He could carry too, I guess. Never have really seen him play. Personally, I think the QB position is open between the senior Colosimo and the junior Davis. Davis could get the edge if he does not play baseball and concentrate on football. Although, who knows, maybe they could move Larimore back to QB too. Defense; I think they are set at linebacker with 2 juniors and a soph, Kremer and Staten; along with sophomore Max Nussbaum. defensive backs? who knows.....Vocke, Brennan, Smith, Studer....I am not sure about them. Defensive line will be intersting. If some of the Juniors step up on the offensive side, some of the seniors could play defensive line. Senior Jenal started on defensive tackle sometime. If some of the Juniors get bigger and stronger on defense, they could score starting spots. Juniors Bradley (nose), Cruse (end) and Evertt (end) played a lot last year; that leaves one or two tackle spots open for a bunch of other juniors to fight it out between Lawless, Verkamp, Brilz, Flannery...and who knows who else. Any other opinions?

Who needs to step up in order for this team to get back to the finals?

What about their tight end. I thought he was a going to get offers. He was a big kid......can't think of his name......welz. walz.....something like that. Did he get anything?

I'll be interested in how the staff shakes out or will it remain the same. Now that it is obvious that Wags isn't in their plans as a head coach, will he look at another school to become a head coach (Campbell)? Is Bob Schneider's son bitter at all? Will he want to walk away or become a bad apple because things aren't the way that daddy did it? Will the Allen boys still be allowed to be the ball boys? KIDDING!
