Mason Co has a NICE TEAM!!! Their guards hound the ball. Setty is for real (fun kid to watch). Best individual performance I've seen all year. And couple of nice athletes inside. Yes they could use Pawsat right now but don't take the night off against this team. Highlands is mucher deeper with Grote and Kowolonek both starting. Love to see these two play eachother in March. CONGRATS TO BOTH TEAMS FOR PLAYING WITH SUCH PASSION AND INTENSITY!! :dancingpa

You must have misread the post. The charge along the baseline was weak. The Dixie player slid over and caught Grubbs side he never established position to draw the charging foul. The foul were both a Dixie player and Grubbs were going up for a rebound was just as bad because both player collided in mid air... it wasn't like the Dixie player boxed him out and Grubbs went over his back.Throwing elbows and forearm checks were not involved in these two plays.

Highlands is not full strength but when Grote is healthy and Grubbs is inserted into the line-up this will be a tough out. Thats 40% of the starting line-up. No knock against Stewart or Gordon they'll have something to say before the end of the year but both should be coming off the bench. This team will be tough they were pretty good last year 21-9 and return their entire team. Thats alot of experience.... Are they good enough to beat Holmes :idunno: But I'm tell'in you... you don't want to play this team when its one and you're out...:ylsuper:

Its up to the refs to keep the game under control. Physically I thought Dixie was dishing out a little more than Highlands until Grubbs came into the 4th quarter to neutralize some of the pushing and shoving that was going on underneath the basket. Not to mention the hand checking that was going on by the Dixie guards. But you'd better believe that if you can dish it out you'd better be prepared to take it in return. Grubbs got called for two cheap fouls, one when he was going after a rebound another time the ref called a charge and the Dixie player clearly was leaning into him. Don't get me wrong Highlands was fouling ALOT on the shots and the refs were doing their job and calling fouls. I'd like to know how many FT Dixie shot in the 1st quarter alone. As far as last year's game at Highlands the Birds just handled them. I was there Boone was out-played and out-coached its as simple as that. You won't hear anyone from Highlands making EXCUSES as to why BC beat them in the regionals because Boone outplayed Highlands on that night... end of story. Not real worried what went on last year. Let the players settle it on the court in a month or two.

Really... who??? :idunno: Highlands has some nice players coming off the bench but when Big Dog is on he's one of the best in the region. Even when he's not playing his best he's still one of the fiercest compeitors that you'll find. Can't comment on the Trammel kid don't know him. Grote's a pretty good all around player he was missed alot especially with all the pushing and shoving that was going on. He's very strong and tough, tough customer. Get Well Soon George!!! we need you to make this run Take any team's first or second best player out of the line-up and it hurts but Highlands has the depth and perserverence to overcome those obsticles

Alot of people are underestimating Highlands right now. With Grote being 60-75% and Grubbs playing sparingly all Highlands has done is opened up the season 3-0. This team is still rounding into shape and adjusting to the new style and Coach Flynn is just getting to know his players as well. Once Grubbs and Grote return to the starting rotation this team will step it up a notch. Hope the Bulldogs underestimate the Birds come March.

WAY TO GO BIRDS!!! Very physical game both teams were hacking at eachother. Birds need a healthy Grote and more Tyler Grubbs he seemed to have been the difference the latter part of the fourth quarter completely took Pike out of the game both mentally and physically using his big body and muscle.:taz: Birds will have to step it up Friday with Mason Co. coming to town

Don't know how you would over-look Grubbs. He did a nice job the little time he was in As far as the refs...:puke: they dominated the game I was there. How can players get into a flow when they're tooting the whistle everyother possesion? Its not what I paid $12.00 actually $14.00 ($2 to park) to see. Holmes is number one until someone in KY beats them. IMO GRC is over-rated what have they accomplished so far? They are still a young team... Do they have senior leadership? I don't recall seeing a senior on their roster How would they handle the pressure aginst a more experienced team in a game that counts? :idunno: AND... I don't want to hear how they beat someone in a scrimmage NO I'M NOT A GRC HATER

No offense to the other 19 teams but Highlands is a top 10 team BELEIVE IT. They can handle Shelby Valley... I've seen both teams play Mason Co. is coming to town soon soooo.... word will be spreading fast. This team has it all size, speed, experience, depth, focus they're on a mission. This team went 21-9 last year and returns ALL its starters and their bench from last year. Who else can make that claim? A new coach with a uptempo style a very tough out for anyone in KY. Could be Coach Flynn's 4 different school he's taken to the Sweet 16 :dancingpa

Gordon played... He was one of the 5 starters only took a few shots missed them both. Probably not his best game but he'll come around seems to step it especially against the tougher the competition.. No Grubbs yet... 6-6 250 lbs comimg SOON !!!:ylsuper:

Then expect a very successful year. This team will put on a clinic on team play. They're a fun group to watch play. Not alot of super-stars just alot of good players that understand the game and play fundmental, hard-nosed basketball and love playing together. Coach's dream... Good Luck Coach Flynn - hope you make history by taking your FOURTH high school to the State Championship. :thumb:

You don't know RJ real well. He's a TOTAL TEAM PLAYER. He will do anything and I mean anything the coach asks him to help his team win. Maybe PG is not his natural position. I think playing him at point is a huge mistake for the Bulldogs because he's looking to pass the ball first until the game is on the line then he seems to rise to the occassion. He's capable of scoring 18-20 pts per game BUT not playing PG. I doubt if he's unhappy Just keep in mind that EVERYONE is bringing their best game when they play Holmes I mean EVERYONE - there are no nights off for the defending STATE CHAMPS

Now Come on... :notworthy: if NCC plays anyone like they did in last year's district game against Highlands they can beat ANYONE in KY. :scared: How many 3's did they knock down in the 3rd Q.? 5 or 6 ??? It will be close because of the two teams style with or without Earls

Expect him to make an early appearance this weekend against Oak Hills Expect Kolwolonek -G Gordon - G Stewart - C Watson - F Dill - F to start... if Lother's thumb is ready Dill or Gordon will come of the bench

Easier said than done... I'll take teamwork over ego-inflated, selfish great players anyday. I don't think Scott Co. is better than they were last year. How will they replace Phares? I think part of the problem with them not running much offense is not having a true point guard. No offense to Mr. Jackson I think he's a fantastic ball player. But he's not a floor general. When I saw them play Lou. Trinity Manning was attempting to run the point. I think their bench is thin don't see how they would survive playing in the State Tournamnet format if they even make it especially if one of the big three gets in foul trouble or injuried. If there the second best team in the state it looks like its pretty wide open :banana:
