I watched it on the net, and they didn't give stats after the game. You can go to the update thread and read it.

Ballard jumped out early with the help of several threes and Scott CO fought back in the second half to tie game.

 

For Ballard, Chiles was unconscious in the first half but wasn't as effective in 2nd. Jones played solidly and the supporting cast did what they had to do to win.

 

IMO Scott Co didn't take advantage of their huge size advantage and still struggle handling ball against pressure. They never ran any offensive sets relying on 1 on 1 play. I thought Manning and Jackson played well and Flannery and Euton hit some huge 3's to keep them in game. With some changes in strategy and their talent, they could be the top team in state without a doubt.

 

Ballard is tough but they will strugle with Eastern who has the same caliber athletes, just bigger.

 

Also, one kid really stood out IMO for Ballard. Tyrell Means literally took over for Ballard scoring 10 points in the 4th on several monsterous dunks, The kid is the quintessential team player who hustles and makes the plays his team needs to win and showed that tonight.

Ballard outscored Scott County 30-4 on bench points and connected on 10 three point baskets for the game.

Ballard could shoot the rock last year too. Sounds like a great game, all the stars from Scott Co. came out to play but they had nothing on the bench, and getting out on shooters seems to have been an issue

Ballard started this game off so hot it looked like they were going to run Scott Co. off the court. If it weren't for Keisten Jones and Devante Parker having to sit out much of the second quarter due to foul trouble, they would've gone into half leading by 20 and not 6.

 

GeLawn Guyn was very disappointing to me. Not a very team-oriented player, which is what you want at the PG position.

 

Tyrell Means' fourth quarter performance was incredible. Game MVP for sure. Why haven't I heard of this guy before???

 

If Scott County wants to go all the way this year, they have got to run some offense or at least learn to move the ball around. Way too much individual play and hardly any team chemistry. Its sad to watch a team full of great players like that go to waste because of poor execution.

I noticed that Chad Jackson had 9 turnovers for SC. That's quite a few for a point guard of his caliber.

If I remember correctly he had quite a few last year in Georgetown too. He really struggled with the pressure.

As I stated clearly on another thread, it wasn't that Bryan Station went down so much as Ballard went up. Hence, the win over Scott County.

Ballard has some studs but at times looked sloppy with the ball out front. SC has some stars but the team chemistry just isn't there. They realy miss Phares down low for boards. I would move Ballard to #4 behind Holmes,GRC,Eastern.
