True they do, but trash talking and getting out of hand are two different things. When I played we got the same card read to us prior to the games and as long as no lines were crossed we could talk. I dont see anything wrong with it and neither has any official in the first 20 games this season.

So they got under his skin which he has done to so many others this season. Henley did the right thing getting him out of there though, you don't want to lose a stud because of some non-sense when you have the game well in hand. Eli has to learn that if he can dish it he has to take it though. The Bulldogs can't afford to lose him over things like that, had this have been the Paintsville game from last year down state @ Rupp and he had reacted like that it could have been a full scale riot, that was the most physical high school game I have ever seen.

He has ran his mouth all season, and if he is just now getting a tech for that, that is crazy. Nothing wrong with a little jawing. But if it is aimed at the officials that is another story. If it was a hard foul, then thats basketball.

Foul trouble for Pittman lets me know that he is still having some of the same issues he had against Scott. I want him to be agressive defensively but he needs to make sure he is available down the stretch. Silly fouls need to be avoided and could be a problem against better teams. Also, I am curious what the tech was for? Was is a hard foul, running his mouth, or arguing calls?

Sounds like Holmes looked good Dawgs. Sadly I was at work and didn't have the chance to attend. I figured they'd be on in the first game back after the Scott scare.

This is great for the Bulldogs and the state of Ky. Keep it up dogs, and best of luck climbing these polls the rest of the way. I hope they end the year with that that one loss to see how high they can climb in the national poll and to show the state that this recognition is deserved.

Lets worry about Dixie and Highlands before we get to far ahead of ourselves... I have said that if a loss is going to occur it will be along the 3 game stretch with Highlands, Hazard, and Boone. I don't think that is going to occur now after the Scott scare, I think Holmes will be focused on each opponent from here on out. I don't know how we got this far ahead, Hazard still has 2 games prior to the Holmes game too.

Is this game still going to be played? I know Holmes played at Ryle last tuesday when the conditions were way worse than today so I am assuming they will still play, but I know there have been some games already cancelled for this evening. Any word on if this one is still on?

Holmes vs Dixie cancelled and will be made up Wednesday

I just got word that the game will be cancelled tonight and made up tomorrow night. Didn't get a time on it but it will be tomorrow. Kinda upsetting news to me, I have to work tomorrow evening and was off today, I was planing on attending. A inch of snow and the buses don't move at Kenton County schools though ha ha ha.

I say seeded. It makes the regular season games mean a little more

Wow, thats a shocker to me, they played last week in the mess, this doesn't seem like enough to cancel the game.

I am pretty sure it is the coaches decision, at least it was when I was in school, and I only remember practice getting cancelled once and it wasn't weather related.

Congrats to the Bulldogs, if they keep playing well and avoid any slip ups through the remainder of the regular season they could be in the top 10 here soon. This is great for the state of KY in general and for Holmes High.

I like Holmes by 20+ Holmes got a huge scare Saturday afternoon and they know that nobody is going to lay down for them now. I am sure Henley was happy to get out of there with the W but he used that game as a coaching tool. Holmes will be ready to go, they will not look bored, they will play with a lot of intensity on both ends of the court. Dixie is playing the best team in the state at the wrong time IMO and this has the potential to get very ugly.

There is no way that Boone Co. is top 10 in the state. They are solid but not that good.

If anyone was there, what was the difference between this game and the last game???? That is like a 20 point swing in a week and a half. Conner has lost to Ryle twice (once by 27) this year but has beat Highlands (and lost to highlands) and played Holmes well. Are they that sparadic?

Good win for Conner. I didn't see that coming, but Highlands is so unpredictable you never know which team will show up. Conner played well against Holmes but that is the only time I have seen them play, guess they are better than I had thought.

There is definately some hate that goes on on here, but when I was at this game there were students and fans from all over N.Ky and everyone there that wasn't with Holmes was cetainly against them. Its like whenever you are not in it, you wanna root for the underdog. Which is why I said earlier whenever Holmes travels, through the districts, and region they will have to deal with harsh enviornments just like the one they played in at Scott. It will be a test night in and night out, they are not only dealing with that, they are dealing with every team they play giving them there best shot, they are all getting up to play the number 1 team in Kentucky, and a nationally ranked team, everyone wants to say we are the ones who knocked them off.

Scott played great tonight, good game for them, they had a huge crowd in attendence today and played up to it. They game out with energy, contested every shot. When Housley went up for a dunk early in the game and it got blocked I seen the energy of the entire scott coaching staff, players, and coaches, it was crazy. Then down the stretch when they were closing the lead and taking the lead at the end of regulation the gym went nuts. It was a great high school basketball game. Coach Carr had his guys ready to go. Holmes has to understand that every game they play is going to be like this. Hostile enviornments on the the road and they will get every teams best shot because of there reputation right now. Nobody is going to lay down for them. Scott did an excellent job of sending that statement tonight. Also, I don't believe in moral victories, but after the game was over and Scott fell short I seen the kids look upset for just a quick moment, then walk off the court with the students from the school creating like a little tunnel from the court to the locker room, high fiving players, laughing, joking, and really recognizing that there team nearly pulled off a huge task. It was good to see that kind of energy from the kids. I am glad I was in attendence, just about everything about that game was good for high school sports. The only issue I could see was the brief moment where Arnold lost his cool in OT. Other than that, A+ game in my book.

Agreed. I have been on the sad end of a lopsided game before, its no fun. I have also been on the good side of some too and that is also no fun. I like the way he let the young guys get some work in and didn't let it get to out of hand.

Yea, thats about what I anticipated. I didn't think Henley would give the big dogs to much time tonight, especially with an afternoon matchup vs Scott in less than 24 hours.

I like Holmes in this one by 10+.
