Eta Rho Posted February 3, 2009 Author Posted February 3, 2009 This is from last Monday the 26th...so it's likely they've moved up a few spots since then. Congrats to both the players and coaches for the recognition they continue to receive on the national scene.
goldendomer57 Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 Wow thats impressive who was the last NKY team to be in the top 25 of any national poll
Eta Rho Posted February 3, 2009 Author Posted February 3, 2009 Wow thats impressive who was the last NKY team to be in the top 25 of any national poll Not sure, but Holmes is now in the top 25 of two different polls... Prepnation- #15 Maxpreps Xcellent 25- #25 Also they are ranked #29 in the rivals100 national poll but from what I hear they will likely be in the top 25 of that poll as well when it's released on Thursday. I just hope they play up to their potential and show everyone in March why they're receiving so much attention.
goldendomer57 Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 You think they could drop after the close Scott game?
Eta Rho Posted February 3, 2009 Author Posted February 3, 2009 You think they could drop after the close Scott game? Doubtful.
TheSecondComing Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 They have a new ranking that came out yesterday and holmes climbed to #21. I didn't think they would drop since they had two other wins by a large margin since the last ranking. http://www.maxpreps.com/FanPages/content/article.mxp/articleid-26633ec8-d832-4eb0-a92d-c461e3d4c650

Holmes (Covington, Ky.) 20-1. Last week: 25. The Bulldogs nipped Covington Scott, 67-66, in overtime for their 19th consecutive victory. Ricardo Johnson was high with 17 points, while Jeremiah Johnson added 15. Earlier in the week, they defeated Union Ryle, 55-41, and Burlington Cooper, 58-20.
bigmarc78 Posted February 4, 2009 Posted February 4, 2009 This is great for the Bulldogs and the state of Ky. Keep it up dogs, and best of luck climbing these polls the rest of the way. I hope they end the year with that that one loss to see how high they can climb in the national poll and to show the state that this recognition is deserved.

IF (big IF) Holmes doesn't lose another game the rest of the year and win the state title, it's very possibly they could finish as one of the top 5 teams in the country. They would finish the season 37-1.
